Bon Jovi Performance in London

June 14, 1999

BON JOVI provided the music for the VERSACE "DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER" Millenium Event Wednesday night (June 10)at Syon House in LONDON. Donning VERSACE duds, they performed a 30-minute greatest hits set while the newest Versace fashions and DeBeers diamond creations were modeled by some of the world's most famous models.

JON and RICHIE started the show by performing a PRAYER and WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE medley downstage center. The entire band then broke into LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME as Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss took to the catwak to kick off the VERSACE fashion show. BAD MEDICINE, I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD, YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME and KEEP THE FAITH followed.

FEAR marked the beginning of the DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER finale; supermodels donned shiny silver Versace designs while wearing massive amounts of valuable diamond jewelry designs by DeBeers. The evening's Grand Finale wrapped up as THE ARTIST FORMER KNOWN AS PRINCE's song, SEXY MUTHAF*$R was performed. JON BON JOVI then joined DONATELLA VERSACE and escorted her as she took her walk around the catwalk (which of course, given the event, was in the shape of a diamond.)

The show was a huge success (JULIETTE LEWIS and SIMON & YASMIN LE BON were spotted screaming and singing along to the BON JOVI performance.) Other celebrities attending the event included HUGH GRANT & ELIZABETH HURLEY, CATHERINE ZETA-JONES, PIERCE BROSNAN, LENNY KRAVITZ, MICHAEL CAINE, IVANA TRUMP, THE BACKSTREET BOYS and THE ARTIST FORMERLY KNOWN AS PRINCE. Of course, the honored guest of the evening was His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales (PRINCE CHARLES) with whom JON spent more than an hour talking about songwriting and singing techniques as they related to his public speaking duties.

The benefits of the evening's proceeds went to Gilda's Club of London, The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and The Prince of Wales's Foundation for Architecture and The Urban Environment.
