Toronto Concert
Perry S.
I went to see Bon Jovi last week (Sept 03 19100) at the new Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto and I have to say it was great!! Having seen the band 7 times (Keep the Faith being my least favorite tour) I really didn't know what to expect. The boys were coming off a really emotional evening the night before as they performed as part of the gala opening of the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. My friends and I thought they were great, paying tribute to the Animals and especially in tackling the John Lennon songs. After a great evening like this, how could the band possibly be ready for a show the very next evening in Toronto... well they were, and moreso!!
We knew we were in for a great show when we heard the boys run through "With a little help From My Friends", and "You Give Love a Bad Name" at sound check. From there the excitement of the event took over. The crowd seemed pumped up for a great night of music, even rising to give local favourites The Jeff Healey Band a standing ovation after they completed their 40 minute opening set. From there it was all Bon Jovi who ran through their set like a band on a mission...never missing a beat. Jon was especially sharp as he held the crowd in the palm of his hands all night long. The band worked hard playing under the hot lights on a cool night at the beautiful lake side outdoor venue. And after nearly 2 hours and 45 minutes the show was over, and it was by far the best Bon Jovi show I've ever seen.
Here's how it went:
Helter Skelter
Hey God
Livin on a Prayer
Bad Name
Keep The Faith
These Days
Lie to Me
Saturday Night
Blaze of Glory
Something For the Pain
Because The Night-Damned
Sleep When I'm Dead--Pappa was a Rolling Stone--JumpinJack Flash
Bad Medicine--Shout
ENCORE 1
Bed of Roses
Lay Your Hands On Me
Wanted Dead Or Alive
I'd Die For You
ENCORE 2
Blood On Blood
Always
Keep on Rockin in the Free World
Runaway
This Ain't a Love Song!!
GREAT SET!Even a friend of mine who is not the biggest Bon Jovi fan agreed that it was one of the best shows he had ever seen. I hope I get the chance to see a few more shows on this tour 'cause These Days the boys are rockin'.
