FM STATION
July 1995

INTERVIEWER: Welcome back!

JON: Thank you. I feel Japan is my second home and I was really looking forward to coming back to Japan. Many friends are here, and it's really pleasing to see such nice people.

INTERVIEWER: Crossroads has sold 14,000,000 copies worldwide and 1,000,000 copies just in Japan! How great it is!

JON: The number isn't everything, of course, but, I'm happy about it. I believe to live always looking forward, so I don't think back to the past days very often. But I have thought about myself, my music, and my way of life while making this best album.

INTERVIEWER: What kind of message does the new album "These days" have?

JON: Since we made our debut 11 years ago, we've been growing up in the public eye and seeng "the wonderfulness of the good" and "the ugliness of the evil". We tried to express what we have gained for these experiences in this new album, but basicallly, Bon Jovi is an optimistic band and we never forget positive feelings.

INTERVIEWER: How are you feeling about Alec Jon Such?

JON: It's so hard to part from a person I've shared my life with, but as a result, we definitely have strenthened the times among us. I still contact Alec sometimes and he looks so happy doing what he really wants to do (an owner of a motorbike shop) We are happy as long as Alec is happy, and I believe our decision was right. The position of "regular member" is still Alec's and it's so special that I can't hand it to a new person and say "well, now you are a member". I still feel Alec's presence so strongly, and the place where he used to be cannot be filled up so easily.

INTERVIEWER: I think there were many things you gained and lost in your 13 years' career. What is the most important thing you gained by "These days"?

JON: One of the reasons I started the band was that I wanted to have friendss I could share our joys and sorrows with. I wanted to feel the companionship, crying and laughing together. But if you keep doing something so long, the time should come when you forget such things. Actually there was a time when my dream was defiled. But while making "These Days", I felt I came back to my original intentions. I think everything - the joy and pleasure of this rock band - is in this new album "These Days".
