"These Days" Review 7 April 2001
these days is a day to remember

A review by Jim Bon Jovi / little_city_the_band@hotmail.com

If i was in the band i would be seriously p****d off with this album. I mean it is pure genius but the critics tore it to shreds just cos it didn't sell aswell as Keep the Faith. Throughout the production is remarkable. The engineer who worked on this is a master of his profession. The songs all ooze quality with the only exceptions the pointless damned and all i want is everything. Both were just a little too over the top for my liking. The reflective mood of the album creates the perfect mix off melancholly to show the emotions of the songs but not sound depressing. High points of the albums are the sublime These Days, Hearts Breaking Even and This Ain't a Love song for the ballads and Something to Believe In, Something for the Pain and My Guitar Lies Bleeding for the rock n roll side of things. Bitter Wine is a perfect triumphant end to a perfect triumphant album that will hold its place in my heart and stereo for a long time to come.

Rating: 9/10
