"Slippery When Wet" Review 11 July 2001
giving music a good name... (haha)

A review by slippery86

ok this is one of the best albums EVER!!!!
the first track Let it Rock is good, and catchy, with a mysterious intro, but it is not quite as good as what is gonna come next...

You Give Love a Bad Name - yes! this is an amazing song! its one of the best on the album! listen to it now!

Livin on a Prayer - another amazing song! think It's My Life for the 1980s and with it more focuced on Tommy and Gina and you get a rough idea.

Social Disease - hmmm... this one is good,but... a bit more pop than rock. i dont know why but thats what it sounds lke to me...

Wanted Dead or Alive is about a lonely cowboy, but its not depressing or sad, its excellent actually. i wonder if its really about comparing being a travelling rock star to being a cowboy, coz i heard jon reckons that it is like that.

Raise Your Hands is a brilliant, rockin anthem - a bit like Let it Rock only (for most people) better.

Without Love is a typical mid- to late-80s ballad, it just has that classic sound of that time. its good but wait for the next one:

Id Die For You is yet another brill song - this rocks! i think that it sounds a bit like The Hardest Part is the Night would if it was on Slippery... not ...Fahrenheit.

Never Say Goodbye is on of those ballads that screams out Im a Classic! it has that Big Ballad Classic sound all over it! but, hey, its good. it sounds like the typical Slow Song at the end of the school Disco.

Wild in the Streets is a fast, sort-of anthem, about old men in pubs remembering their younger days and going, "oh yeah we were cruising to the BackBeat... etc etc."

overall a damn good album!
