"Bounce" Review 18 September 2002
Bounce - a Masterpiece

A review by Denyo / denyo256@web.de

My expectations were totally different from what Bounce is right now. I thought, a BJ-album with influenced by the attacks on Sep 11 would be dark, a bit like These Days, but darker.

Ok, Bounce is dark, but in another way. And above all, it is their best album ever.

Undivided:
As I first heard "Another Reason To Believe", I wondered how good this one would be, because they kicked ARtB for Undivided. And I was surprised. Perhaps their best song ever.
10++/10

Everyday:
The first single. This one is the "It's my Life" of Bounce, but i don't like it that much. Only give it a
8/10

The Distance:
As I first read the lyrics of this one, I expected a ballad. But then, I heard this guitar and this great chorus. I loved ih the first time I heard it. One of my Top 5 BJ-songs.
10+/10

Joey:
Finally they got back to those story-telling songs. Just great. I'd love to here it live.
10/10

Misunderstood:
First I didn't like this. It reminded me too much of Matchbox 20, but it grew on me, and now, it's one of my favourites on Bounce. Perhaps because it tells a bit of my own story.
10/10

All About Loving You:
The first ballad on Bounce. And much better than all of "Crush". But between these songs here, it is just a short break before the next storm.
10/10

Hook Me Up:
WOW. What an intro. Their best intro ever. And perfect to open a show. This is real rock.
10/10

Right Side Of Wrong:
Everytime I hear this one, I think of Bonnie and Clyde. Great lyrics and great guitar solo. First I heard it, I thought I'd listen to Blaze of Glory.
10+/10

Love Me Back To Life:
The next ballad, I thought when I read the title. But then again came these guitars. Great song, which reminds me of another (but don't know which one).
10/10

You Had Me From Hello:
A good ballad, but I don't like it. It is too slow for Bounce.
6/10

Bounce:
The title track. Great rock song, perhaps their hardest ever. This works very well live, I think.
10/10

Open All Night:
The best ballad at the end. First I thought, I knew this one. A little bit like "Never Say Goodbye".
