I finally saw Titanic for the first time this week. It was on tv and I was sick, so I laid on the couch and watched it.

It was different than I expected. I knew that Jack died, but didn't realize he lived as long as he did. And it wasn't as heart-breakingly sad as I had expected. Somehow I thought a movie where 1500 people died was going to be sadder. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood to cry.

I thought the storyline was a bit silly at times, what with Rose (and Jack) having full access to any part of the ship they wanted but, hey, that's Hollywood!

At the end, when they say there was no record of Jack Dawson, I couldn't help but think that James Cameron should have checked out the names of the Titanic victims buried in our cemetary, because there is a headstone there with the name J. Dawson. In fact, when the movie was first released, there were always flowers left at his grave from fans of the movie who romantized that the man buried there was Rose's Jack.

It took him 3 hours to sink a boat...my version would have been about 10 minutes long, and most of that time would have been the nude scene, lolal

I enjoyed it. Yeh it prob was too long, and it concentrated more on the love story than the sinking boat, but I thought they did a good job with it.

Has to be one of the worst films ever made!! The Titantic sunk quicker than that film! It was so boring and Leonardo was so badly cast alongside of Kate Winslet! Crap film!!

I'm with Tash and Devasta here. I don't really like the movie at all. This was one of those movies that was so hyped, that I really thought I liked it after I saw it the first time. But after I sat down and watched it again, I realized that I really didn't care for the movie at all. But, I'm not a big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio either.

I enjoyed it, but it's not something I have any desire to see again. The only reason I wen to see it was I really loved the song "My Heart Will Go On" and it made me interested in the film.

Same here. I loved it the first time I saw it, but after seeing it again, it was it lost its luster. Some parts were almost too funny even though they weren't supposed to be. :?

I stood up in the movie theatre and applauded when Jack died  My mom and my aunt were sitting behind me sobbing...I was counting the gummibears on the ceiling. Not a big Leo fan.

I saw this film twice at the pictures, but I must admit it was overated at the time it was released. I agree it is quite funny to watch now and pick up on all the mistakes

ahh! I had such a great time watching that movie in the cinema... first seat on the first row - excellent! With all those Leo fans starting to sigh with the first scene where Leo appears. Nah, I think Titanic was really overrated... We had a laughing fit that didn't seem to end when Jack died and sank to the bottom of the sea, not to great amusement of the people seated around us....

I enjoyed the film the two or three times I saw in the theatres (I think it was three....) but then we bought it on VHS and I've never been able to get past the first tape... I think it's one of those movies that are just for a BIG screen... I thought it was the best movie ever made at the time...
