'Gigli' goes from bad to worst at annual Razzie Awards
Adding insult to the injuries already inflicted by film critics and its dismal performance at the box office, "Gigli" was declared the worst movie of 2003 on Saturday at the 24th annual Razzie Awards in Hollywood, Calif.
And, boy, did the 617 voting members of the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation really hate it. They also tagged the film for worst actor (Ben Affleck), worst actress (Jennifer Lopez), worst screen couple (Affleck and Lopez), worst screenplay (Martin Brest) and worst director (Brest again).
The tongue-in-cheek awards, handed out by Razzies creator John Wilson, are announced this time every year as a reminder of the films and performances that fell well short of Academy Award consideration.
Sylvester Stallone picked up the Razzie, his 10th, for worst supporting actor in "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over," and Demi Moore took the worst supporting actress honors for "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," which also was named worst remake or sequel.
