Since Star Wars being the most successful trilogy referring to Oscars (10), do you think The Lord Of The Rings, that got 5 so far if I'm right, will beat it tonight? Yes, I know, Star Wars is not a trilogy anymore...
However, what do you think?
I hope so. :D

Well technically Lord Of The Rings isn't a trilogy, its actually 6 books, usually published in 3 volumes, but as movies it is obviously a trilogy.
Star Wars is now a saga, as there are 2 seperate trilogies, but even if Lord Of The Rings beats it tonight, there is a Star Wars movie yet to come, and although they aren't nominated for the big awards anymore, they usually win special effects and sound awards and such, so I doubt it will in the end.

I thought I'm in the movie section here, I didn't talk about any book.

Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against Star Wars, I love it. I referred to the original trilogy that has been the most successful trilogy with 10 Oscars for 20 years now, and I just thought IF there is another trilogy that could/should beat Star Wars it has to be The Lord Of The Rings, which btw got already 6 Oscars with the first two films (I was wrong in my first post).
I don't like to include the new trilogy since it would be unfair to compare 6 to 3 films. And for the Oscars: Episode I was nominated 3 times and lost all to The Matrix, Episode II was nominated just once and lost to The Two Towers, so still 10 with even 5 films. Would be a big surprise if Episode III would do much better. Btw, I like the new episodes, but time and place were right 20 years ago, the charme is gone nowadays.

Well depending on what else is on release next year I think Episode III could get a few nominations, seeing as it is the last one and the most anticipated, and it could win a couple too I think. Obviously it isn't even finished yet, so no-one knows what it's going to be like, but I bet it's going to be big. I really can't wait, especially for the big fight between Anakin and Obi Wan, which is apparently going to be one of the biggest fights ever in a movie.
I'm avoiding all spoilers now, but from what I read up to new year it sounds amazing, with appearences from the likes of Chewbacca and I even heard that the start of the movie is a huge space battle, featuring many wookies.
I really really can't wait.

You're going off topic again... :D
Well, I'm not so much into Star Wars, but of course, EPIII is a must see for me as well.
