Probably not every American casual fan know this song since it was not included in some versions of 'These Days' especially USA's. But I'm a big fan of this song. I think it's extremely underrated. The melody is great, the lyrics are very easy and memorable, and the accompaniment is very simple, but so awesome, especially Richie's acoustic guitar's and David's piano together. For me, it was the perfect way to end whan I consider Bon Jovi's best album of all time. This song is the reason why I didn't purchased this song on amazon.com where I buy all the other albums, because the website was selling the USA edition which didn't have All I Want Is Everything and most importantly, Bitter Wine. I waited patiently and bought it from a music shop when I was in Poland (I'm from Lithuania) just to own that specific song. And it was worth it also because it was very cheap, about 7$ if you translate them to dollars so it was a win-win. It has been one of my favorite BJ's songs ever. Last year, in spring, I had a very unhappy incident, where I damaged my eyes and I was rushed to the hospital. I was laying there not knowing if I would be able to see again. My dad bought be a new iPod and put everything I had from Bon Jovi to the player and gave me at the hospital. And this song was a big discovery for me and it was like a blessing from Jon to keep the faith. While song's lyrics have nothing to do with it, it kept me happy and desired to get better. Thankfully, what was a big concern in the first place, ended just great so this song will always be special to me

What do you think about this song? I don't expect this song to be connected with you as it was connected with me, but I'd like to see if anything besides me absolutely loves this song

This song is the only thing that ruins These Days for me.

Maybe the fact that it comes after Diamond Ring is a disadvantage. I mean, it must be tough following one of the greatest songs of the Jovi catalogue.

I like Bitter wine. IMO it could have easily replaced Lie To Me and made These Days a much stronger album.

Aloha !

Bitter Wine will always be a song special to me because it reminds me of a girl I fell in love with during the Lost Highway tour. It was her favourite song and I rehearsed the **** out of it in my living room just to be able to deliver a spectacular performance of the song, yet it never happened.
