Totally agree.

One question I think nobody is asking themselves/answering...what about the orchestration on songs like The Distance? Where did they get that idea from? I can’t remember it being trendy back then (correct me if I’m wrong). When I heard it for the first time I thought ‘that’s original’.

Anyway, I rate Bounce with B-sides and taking away a few weak tracks way above Crush (maybe my least favourite album) and on par with HAND and LH as their best post 2000 effort.

Weakest song? Umm...Open all night or Had me from hello

What's Postcards about; is it really about 9/11 / Ground Zero? I always thought it was just a "I'm away from home and miss you" type of song?
You are right about "Postcards". I should have been more specific in saying "Another Reason..." in regards to that.

I just remember how it was marketed in interviews prior to the release of the album that it was inspired by the events of 9/11.

I liked the orchestration a lot, actually. It's better than the U2 type of stuff they do now.

I thought HAND was utter dirge. HAND kicks it off nicely then its all crap until bonus tracks of Dirty Little Secret and Unbreakable.
Unfortunately it hasnt got better with time either.

After the title track, I Am, Bells of Freedom & Last Man Standing are great IMO. I Want To Be Loved & Who Says are good, and everything but Wildflower is at least pretty good IMO. Counting bonus tracks, DLS is great while Unbreakable is trash.

LMS is a good track. I also like the slow version on the boxset.
I am aint bad either but none of these are Jovi quality.

I just cant get past the "God makes no mistakes" line. Appalling. It really makes me cringe. Not cos Im an atheist but because its just such a horrible tacky line.

Well that's not among the songs I called very good. It's basically a cheesy country song, and yeah, that line sure is easier to sing if you're a millionaire than if you're down on your luck. That's the real problem I have with that line (there's way more religious imagery and references in other songs); that Mr Soul Kitchen tells people to be glad for what they got because it's all meant to be that way.

Why? HAND isn't even that good of a song. It isn't even the best clone of IML. Everyday takes this prize. But anyways, there are much better songs on the album that hand like I Want To Be Loved, Last Man Standing, Welcome To Whenever You Are and Novocaine which is in my top 5 BJ songs of the 21st Century.

I'd take HAND over Everyday at any time. Actually, Everyday is the ONLY song where I like the TLFR arrangement more than the original one.
