I have a little more confidence in Richie that he won't destroy himself and Jon doesn't have to dance around his demons to save him. He's frequently asked about Richie and this is his way to tackle it. But the example of other bands give us hope for a reunion one day...

If we are to believe what JBJ has said recently, as well as what Richie said, this is what needs to happen for Richie to return:

-He can get the need to be the front man out of his system
-Same for the whole RSO-thingie
-Solo career doesn't take off to the point where he doesn't even remember the BJ days (this one is guaranteed)
-Richie gets humble(d) enough to apologize to BJ
-Richie gets humble(d) enough to admit he has a problem
-Richie gets sober
-JBJ accepts Richie back in the band
-BJ are still a band / JBJ still has enough of a voice to make more records
-Richie doesn't drink himself unable to play guitar or worse

I was having this very conversation with someone when these interviews came out. I don't think Richie has anyone around him now who would be a voice of reason, or challenge him to see he is in trouble. Denial is an addicts biggest lie. You can not make them change but you can't support them either. I think if Richie called Jon today and said he needed help - Jon would be there or see that he has the best options available. I think there is damage to the friendship but I don't think it was fake - they are not that good as actors. I do think from a practical point the door to the band is closed - at least for a long time.

Default Jon and Richie

Don't see a lot of objectiveness here once again. All we have to do is listen to Jon:
- He is the leader, the dictator, the quarter back,...
- Richie was his right/left hand man, David was at the beginning, Shanks is now...it's called business, THIS IS NOT A REALITY SHOW.

I really don't see the problem...Richie had enough of the role he had in Jon's band and left. Will he have enough of his new 'freedom'? Of course...we can see what he's like already. Will Jon let him back in? Give him a few years...it will probably be for business reasons, to sell some more records or tickets; may be because he misses him, but it will happen

Meanwhile, why can't we just respect them for what they are?

Great post. This could be very true! Who has Richie got now? I'm sure he has close people around him but can anyone help him? Will anyone be honest with him and say he has a problem?

Never really looked at it in that way.

OK, it's time to face the music. I've been defending Richie way too long and it's time to face the sad truth. He's high and wasted. He can't play his own tunes, sing his own songs. He's a shadow of himself. Orianthi does her best but she can't save him. It's up to him. Jon has already admitted he's come to terms with the absence of his dearest friend. No faking here, they were brothers... I was clearly blinded with Richie's talent and vulnerability but it doesn't justify all the wrong-doing. I admire Jon for being so brave and so persistent although he's also struggling with his limitations. I can only pray that Richie will stop this self-destruction processs and let God into his life. There's no light in this tunnel, he's heading towards the unknown....God knows if it's up to change anytime soon. I'm so sad writing this stuff because I do want to believe there's something greater in RS than his addictions, weaknesses and indulgences. He can be so much more than this, why is he doing it to himself? Watching all those old fan vids showing the brotherhood in BJ makes me ache

Hm... I experienced a lot about BJ in the last year. And if you ask me, Iīd think that almost everything is faked. The whole image. I donīt believe anymore that Jon Bon is such a good guy. Heīs just good in selling himself, but the truth is not as beautiful as the image tells. I donīt believe him anymore when he says there was no fight. Did he ever reach out to call him?! I donīt think so. And when I listen to Living with the ghost, it all seems that he has done sth to him, and thatīs why he went away and left. Somehow I believe the whole friendly image of Jon Bon is just a big fat lie. Read Bachs story how he threat and punched him backstage? Heīs deep rooted, I donīt think he changed since the 80s. The band are just workers for him. He sees his music just as a job to make money, he says heīs faithful to his wife while in truth he goes to stripclubs, he says Rich is still a friend while in truth he never spoke to him again.... Sorry for my hateful text, but i am so in rage... I got to know all those things about him, and even some more. I donīt trust him anymore, and I also think there is no "brotherhood" or whatever. If i see beyond the fassades, itīs all a lie. Jon Bon seems to be such a hypocrite!

Welcome to the world of sex, drugs and rock & roll. And drinking, and fighting... I believe that their friendship/ chemistry on the stage was genuine.

Richie walked out on the tour the day of a show but Jon not calling him is why there's no brotherhood. Got it.
