Sponsoring a millionaire in "doing good" is absolutely problematic to me. Oh how I'd wish he'd refused to accept this. This puts him in a very bad light.

I'm with you, I find it utterly ridiculous. Whoever runs this award thingy has lost their minds! Giving money to millionaires for their charity/social work is beyond absurd! If they have too much money on their bank account, why don't they give it to charity organizations which need it instead of multimillionaires to whom $75,000 is peanuts anyway?!
It's not about what Jon and the other award receivers will do with the money (I dare hope they will give it away), it's about the principle of that award, it's so wrong...
