I am not, and I do not pretend to be, but to say that Reunion is better than NSG is laughable. And about my 7800º comment is pure reality, it's such an underrated album, technically, Alec has been more involved in the studio than Phil in the last 5 years.

Why is it so difficult to understand? The lyrics fit the movie it was made for. Just like Mr. Big Time does. That one doesn't have much better lyrics so I don't get the problem with Save The World.

Anybody who's seen Armageddon knows it's as deep as a puddle. It's just explosions, some of the worst acting I've ever seen, cheesy dialogues and Bruce Willis saving the world!

Now if I was judging Jon for including the song in a band record, especially without changing and "de-cheesefying" the lyrics, or even because I honestly wouldn't put it past him to write that kind of lyrics, then it'd be fair to rank it low. But not even in that particular scenario I'd rank it lower than Amen, Work For The Working Man and Born To Follow.

What I really like is seeing most of TC ranking low. For some reason it keeps popping on people's best post 2000 albums and I can't think of a single reason why.

I'd argue that LH is ranking too low based on the quality of its good songs, but I find it too difficult to connect to most of the songs so I'd have to agree.

everytime I heard the word "moon" like in I love you all the way to the moon and back, I think in this song (Save The World), I guess I'm traumatized >_< LOL, but I LOVE this song, so when I read it was the worst in this ranking I stopped reading U_U

I know Tony. He does have a bias. He barely even listens to Bon Jovi anymore and asked me about songs he might have missed. In fact, he left off the Chinese love song I told him about which I thought was odd because he included other songs Jon recorded but didn’t write. It’s obvious because there are songs from B.B. and THINFS that are far and above better than much higher ranked songs, but I don’t think he’s ever given those CDs a fair shot. He said Matchbox 20 Wanted their song back about Beautiful World, but ranked a Nickelback rip-off in the Top 100? That’s ludicrous.

Thinny, I have expressed that I thought Never Say Goodbye was an annoying song for years before you got here. It has nothing to do with who wrote it. I’m not convinced “it’s Richie’s song” as people grabbed out of thin air. Nobody knows what was contributed by whom. People lept to the idea that Richie was the man behind the song because he sang the demo. Maybe Jon had the flu that day. It’s all assumptions. None of us were in the room when it was written.

Anyone who can’t see thathe lyrics to Reunion are superior to the cringeworthy “you lost more than that in my backseat” and “together forever” in relation to high school has strange standards.

Good points Becky! Jon always uses NSG as his go to example when he talks about his current writing too... "I could never write NSG again at age X" If he didn't write it, he'd pick another example.

It goes both ways, though. Anyone who can't see that the pure instrumentation and vocal delivery of NSG are far superior to the middle-of-the-road pop puddle that is Reunion has strange standards.

And the lyrics: "Write your song, sing along, love your life" isn't really much deeper than the lyrics to NSG. With the exception that the latter was penned by a 24-year old kid admitting to like "this majestic shit" and the other was written 53-year old who wants it all to be universal and yet deeply personal at the same time.

As I’ve said for years, I find NSG annoying. The guitar is whiny. I also prefer Jon’s deeper voice to what my family consistently called “screaming” long ago. I just prefer an adult perspective, I guess.

That's reasonable. Maybe because I'm still in 20's, I can connect to NSG much more at this point
