I Believe 4/5
Keep the Faith 5/5
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead 5/5
In These Arms 4/5
Bed of Roses 4/5
If I Was Your Mother 3/5
Dry County 5/5
Woman In Love 2/5
Fear 3/5
I Want You 2/5
Blame It On The Love of Rock & Roll 2/5
Little Bit of Soul 3/5

Would be my assesment. I think the album could have been much stronger if the bonus tracks were part of the proper album instead of some of side b.

I Believe
Keep the Faith
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
In These Arms
Bed of Roses
If I Was Your Mother
Dry County
Starting All Over Again 5/5
Fear
Miss Fourth Of July 5/5
The Radio Saved My Life Tonight 4/5
Little Bit of Soul
Save A Prayer 5/5

That would be a killer album to me!

Choosing I Want You over Miss Fourth of July is the one that really baffles me...

Miss Fourth Of July 100% should’ve been on the album. One of the best if not THE best outtake this band has. Although given the fact that Jon has expressed that the song was very painful for him at the time I also understand why it was left off the album in the end.

Still a real shame though.

I don't remember hearing that before, can you elaborate?

When they played the song at the boxset release show in Atlantic City in 2004 Jon introduced it by talking about how he wrote it during his "grey period" and he said he happened to like the song more now because it doesn't hurt as bad.

Gotcha, I vaguely remember that actually. Thanks

That would be mine, but I would 100% take that album with the bonus tracks like Thinny listed over the final album.

Still one of the band's classic albums, even if it is a bit lop-sided. It is just dripping with power and ambition. Classic Bon Jovi but modern and different. It is the album I'd probably give to someone who wanted to check out the band.

I Believe: 5/5
Keep the Faith: 5/5

Calling a 32 year old album "modern" is a bit questionable

Great album, even if about half of it is clearly a step below the super duper good stuff on it.

Great:
Keep The Faith
In These Arms
Dry County
If I Was Your Mother
Save A Prayer

Very good:
I Believe (the performance is what makes it so good; if this had a post 2000 vocal it would be merely okay)
Bed of Roses

Pretty good:
Sleep When I'm Dead (overplayed)
Woman In Love (great performance, song is just okay)
Fear
I Want You

Whatever:
Blame It On The Love of Rock & Roll
Little Bit of Soul

Objectively, the Keep the Faith album, like all Bon Jovi albums (New Jersey excluded) has about 4-5 great songs and the rest are weak attempts to mimic the 4-5 great songs.
All of these songs - save Bed of Roses and In These Arms - are much better with the live versions. Milton Keyes 1993, particularly.

The outtakes from this album - Starting All Over Again, Radio Saved My Life Tonight, The Fire Inside, Fields of Fire, Cadillac Man, We All Sleep Alone, House of Fire* (NJ Demo?) - could have easily replaced the weak songs like Women In Love, Little Bit Of soul, Sleep When I’m Dead, Blame It On The Love.

The album did resurrect Bon Jovi at the height of grunge.

With this track list, it would have been (almost) as perfect as New Jersey

1. The Fire Inside
2. Starting All Over Again
3. Radio Saved My Life Tonight
4. Fields of Fire (Richie co-singing like on An Evening With...)
5. I Believe
6. Keep The Faith
7. Fear
8. If I Was Your Mother
9. In These Arms
10. Bed Of Roses
11. I Want You
