10, it's a great freaking rock song !!! It's just one of those songs that you can show to Bon Jovi haters and tell them "Eh? What do you think now you prick?"

In theory, yes. In reality it was never promoted to reach that recognition. For example, November Rain by GNR, released at the same time, was pushed hard and reached that iconic status. This could've been Bon Jovi's version.

Instead they picked safe options like In These Arms or Sleep When I'm Dead as singles. And Dry County was the last single of the album with no promo appearances and shortened cheap video. Shame.

Off topic: before I became a fan of Bon Jovi (I only knew a few hits), I actually discovered Dry County when I was googling for songs that are similar to November Rain, as GNR was my favorite band at that point. Time flies.

P.S. I gave it a 9.

10

Comparing DC to THINFS is a friggin joke.

THINFS is nowhere close to being in the same league as DC. They're not even the same sport.

Dry County shows the power the band once wielded in terms of musical supremacy. They're unfortunately a shadow of their former selves these days but that's been discussed to death already - I only brought it up because I gave the new tune a 3 or 4.

DC gets a 9. It's not my favourite by any stretch but one I was desperate to see live and thankfully, I've been lucky enough to see it performed twice. I think the only album which features 10s in my book are a handful from These Days, including the title track.

This song is among Jovi's best. The guitar solos are positively orgasmic. 9/10. Only problem for me is that I think it's perhaps a bit too long. But that's also part of its charm.

I give it a 9. A strong 9... more like a 9.5. The only thing keeping it from being a 10 are songs like BOR, TD, Santa Fe, Always, and Wild is the Wind. I gave THINFS a 6 and there has never been such a distance between 6 and 9. If they released DC now, it'd be a 15.

A band at their peak in my opinion. Superb in every way.
