Default Metallica …And Justice for All - Rolling Stone Review

You might think, this belongs into the Other Bands section. But it doesn't! I have stumbled upon the review that Rolling Stone did for Metallica's …And Justice For All. And surprise surprise, it's more of a review of New Jersey - basically comparing both 'metal' bands in terms of commercialism and rebellion.

Despite the usual Rolling Stone punches at Bon Jovi (it's impossible to live without them), it's actually a very good read, and reflects, if nothing else, how MASSIVE Bon Jovi were. They were the reference point of Rock and Heavy Metal, and even if this review is not the most flattering to Bon Jovi, I see it as a compliment, an ode, a tribute to their status.

To summarise it:
"Yes, Metallica, are awesome and critics as well as pimpled boys love them, but Bon Jovi (despite being who they are) are BON JOVI"

Also - the quote below made me burst out laughing:
Quote:
New Jersey has all the virtues and drawbacks of a popular record, hitting all the marks yet remaining thoroughly unidiosyncratic. Right now few of the tracks sound like hits, but there is no doubt that a year from now at least four will have become part of our collective consciousness.
How much foresight….
