In my view, there's nothing to be proud of being 55 and dating someone who's 26 years younger. Not to extent that I would point fingers and slam it down on internet comments and stuff, but certainly not something I aspire to achieve when I'm Richie's age. But that's just me.

Let's talk about it in 35 years time, when you are 55 . And how can you tell that Richie is proud of it. It's just one of his relationships and I bet it's not the last one, he's a rock star, so there'll always be women who are willing around him. I agree with you that it's not something everybody should aspire to achieve, but some people need it and some don't. But slamming Richie on this forum, because of the fact that he has a much younger girlfriend, looks a bit pathetic. Just my two cents.

It's still a 29 year old with a 55 year old and in most cases it's fame and money that is the attraction. She had one hit single in 09, other than that she's been on the shoulders of others. I know a few younger women who date/live with much older men and they all say it's about "security".
He's taken her around the world first class, no more tour bus, per reliable gossip (been right in the past) exceeded her AC income for less work, no tour promoter or album deal yet so he's footing the bills. This has been going on all year... The Europe tour - not there personally but the videos - he was a mess. A few posts here seemed to think the same. She recorded Every Road and that became her "tour".
I've followed him through many a fame w, but this is the first time I recall him putting his music on the line. I personally find her voice annoying and playing flashy. Now, she promoted him with her at her Halloween gig, after tickets went from $50+, to $26 to $20. Not heard how it went other than he did Voodoo Child and School's Out. Already an Australian article where she said she's not sure if he'll be there for her show.(bet he is) It's like Nikki Lund for me all over again. As long as the fashion stayed out of the music, I could care less. Has the King of Swing become the Prince of Pawns? Wish they had left it professional or separate careers.

He gives her the illusion of financial security and social status. She gives him the illusion of eternal youth and virility (which she can translate into also becoming breeding stock) -- at least, until they're traded in for a newer model. Your friends are deluding themselves: you are NOT financially secure unless YOU are financially secure!

LOL -- to add insult to injury, it was held at a casino: the ticket prices included an afterparty and gambling! . She not only had TWO backup guitarists, she had two lead vocalists, too, one of whom was Gregg Allman's daughter -- she really DOES like to go first class! And she must have a record deal -- otherwise she wouldn't have a single at #5 on Radio Disney!

Orianthi should just slide off into session playing where she belongs now I think. She's proved she can't sing or hold people's attenton for very long.

Richie looks better though. Less bloated and all that.

I'd settle for a halfway decent free-standing original instrumental -- even Richie has accomplished that much (with help from Tico and Huey).
