I only had time to watch the first 10 minutes so far, but out of all the media appearances and interviews he gave recently, I find he sounds the most coherent in this one.

Is this watchable? The other one was a cluster **** and rightly taken down..

It is. But I didn't have a big problem with previous one (which is still online).

They go step by step through Only Lonely solo. It's pretty much about music, I like that.

Wait a minute, the previous one is still online? Could you point me where it is? I would like to watch it.

I might have misunderstood. I thought steel_horse75 was referring to the previous interview with Richie from a few days ago. This one is still online.


If he was referring to a previous Shred with Shifty episode/interview with Richie, then I know nothing about that Had he been previously on?

Yeah last year there was one. Richie was really struggling with the slurring, he was diffiuclt to understand at times and going off on tangents constantly. All the comments were brutal and claiming Richie was wasted etc (I still don't believe that to be the case and while I enjoyed the video in places, it was a tough watch in others. I actually felt bad for him as it pretty much confirmed to me that there is more going on with him heathwise). It was removed, I believe out of respect for Richie. Let's put it this way, if Chris thought Richie was wasted the last time he did his show, i doubt very much he would have had him back on for a second attempt. I havent watched the new interview with Chris yet, but the stuff we've seen with Richie lately he is clearly doing a lot better now.

Good interview to be fair. Richie comes across as very likeable if a little bit of a bullshitter with some of the things he says/exaggerates. However, with his career, he's entitled to that.

I honestly couldn't give a shit if he ever comes back to the band. They've left a legacy together that stands up whether he does or not. The bigger shame is that he seems to not be on great terms with 3 or 4 guys who he went through an incredible journey with. That's very sad for all of them and hopefully they get back on better terms whether or not that results in him joining the band.

The Jon v Richie debate is so tiresome at this point. They are two adults who have moved in different directions. That's life.

And both happily in the direction they wanted to go. Jon has continued to lead the band as he wants, with the people he wants, and to ongoing success. Richie has gotten the time he wanted, the freedom, and to become in control of his own career. It is win-win. While the fans may have lost out, they owe nothing to the fans.

So far I'm liking this interview. A bit less slurring, shifty is doing great reeling Richie back on topic whenever he goes on tangents for too long and it's all mainly about the Only Lonely solo. I wouldn't be surprised if whoever is trying to manage Richie asked for a do-over appearance to make up for the cluster**** that was the last interview with Shifty. I really hope he keeps this up, he looks healthier than he has in years....
