Default High hopes for Richie's 3rd album

I'm really hoping he puts out a record during the Jovi break. I'm listening to U. Soul right now, which I haven't heard in AGES. takes me back to 98 and hits me with a bittersweet feeling of nostalgia. It'd sure be nice to see Richie putting out another record and touring it ! I'd love to see a solo gig of his..

He's been recording with Nikki Lund, his partner in the White Trash Beautiful mess. What a waste.

I can't imagine it being anything else. She was posting pics on Facebook of them in the studio. I got tired of all the WTB spam, though, and unfriended/unfollowed all the WTB stuff on FB and Twitter. Enough already. The novelty has worn off.

He's had so long to work on it that he's probably got plenty of tracks recorded that aren't dance/pop. Remember a few years ago he was talking about working with various country artists like Kenny Chesney. Maybe some of that will come to fruition. If he does record something with Kenny, he can definitely get airplay on country radio and video.

When I got to meet him in December I just wanted to ask him one question - whether there were any plans for a third solo album...instead I just stood there grinning like an idiot and forgot all about it.

That would be nice. Hopefully things work out for him.

As much as I love "Blaze of Glory" and "Destination Anywhere", a new Richie album is much more welcome here... BUT, I'M not sure if I would like the output. I'm very sceptical about this Nikki Lund thing (though I'm open for experiments), but going back to "Take Me On" (which was neat, kinda) he had this polished pop style in most of his recordings, and I guess we all want him go back to the sound of "Undiscovered Soul" or even "Stranger" and carry on where he left off there.

But no matter what, I'd love new tracks with him singing - and playing some decent guitar. That voice is just too good!

On a sidenote: I would, of course, be curious, where new solo album would take JBJ, lyrically (and musically). But this last decade saw him warming up his beloved clichés over and over again, like saying: a BJ song has to appeal to as maany people as possible. A solo record could see a return to exploring more personal grounds (what I would love in BJ too...)
