Richie has been "offered" music and non-music related honors; and, yes, he has accepted them. Your point?

(Y'know, Becky, Jon's a pretty cool guy in his own right. You really don't have to make unnecessary digs at Richie in order to defend him. Just sayin'...)

I know he has in the past and my point was exactly that he WOULD accept them if he was offered them now. OJ was making it sound like Jon was somehow not "all about the music" because he's "hanging out with politicians and businessmen" and "accepting non music related awards" so I was pointing out some of the music-related things Jon has done lately that OJ conveniently left out.

I don't see your critique of anyone for taking digs at Jon to defend Richie... just sayin....

Becky is Jon's PR guru for Dry County. I'm pretty sure she's on his payroll.

For the record, I've defended Jon on more than one occasion and I've also been known to call others out for unnecessarily ragging on him, too. I just don't feel the need to do it often because I have every confidence that you've got it covered! And seriously, nobody does it better!! Case in point: in your previous post, you had already laid out a perfectly adequate defense of Jon without bringing Richie into it at all.

My response was prompted by your use of the italicized "offered", as if the very idea that Richie might be recognized for anything non-musical was ludicrous. If I misinterpreted that, my mistake. But to be honest, I may not have jumped to that conclusion if I could recall a time when you've made unfavorable comparisons with Jon using anyone other than Richie to illustrate your point. Perhaps you have and I missed it, but Richie always seems to be your go-to "whipping boy" when attempting to cast Jon in a superior light.

As far as I'm concerned, even if they never write another song, sing another note, or play another riff, both of these guys have already accomplished more in their careers than most people dream of, each in his own way. I just don't understand why people seem to find it necessary to tear either one of them down in an effort to make the other look better.

I hope she's well-paid, then, because she works hard for the money; and she does a really good job at covering his six! ('Course I can't say much. I'm sure there are those who think I do the same for Richie! If anyone wants to provide references...)

My goal was not to draw up an exhaustive list of Richie's and Jon's most recent activities but to underline the common points and differences in their respective schedules. Because I read between the lines of Supersonic's post that Richie has been playing in less and less prestigious places since he left the band whereas had he stayed, he'd still be performing in huge venues and at prestigious shows and events. But maybe I read too much in his message and since he still hasn't answered my question...
So it was NOT a Team Richie vs Team Jon story but a Richie the (not so) solo artist vs Bon Jovi the band, that's why I mentioned Tico (the 3 of them appeared separately at events involving sports, hence the parallel I made). I didn'tmention David because I forgot he was at the Night of Too Many Stars show and apart from this and his "Memphis"-related events, we don't see much of him.

I didn't "conveniently leave out" things, I made it appear just the way it is in the media: Jon has been spending a lot more time collecting humanitarian awards, delivering speeches and hanging out with businessmen and politicians than anything else.

Anyway, you've got some nerve, girl! Who created the "Jon's Philanthropic Work" thread? Who made it a sticky? Who placed it at the top of the list so that it's the very first thing one sees when surfing in this part of the board?
That's 3 things that clearly show that this part of his life is your priority. Looks like ticos_stick is right: you're indeed Jon's PR guru!

And who created (a trashcan) an all-purpose thread to list Richie & Ori's appearances as if each of them were all the same and didn't deserve a dedicated thread whereas Jon's appearances do? Why no "Jon appearances" thread? And why on earth did you put it in the "Tour Discussion" section of the board?Hello? What/whose tour? There's no tour at all, just occasional and varied appearances. What's the "General Discussion" section for then? It says, "Discuss everything related to Bon Jovi (the band or individual members') activities here - latest news, rumors, songs, appearances,..."
So what's your point? There may be a method to your madness but all I see is bias and lack of organization. Either we respect what the admin decided or we need to redefine the different parts of this board. Just saying.

For the record, I'm not taking sides, I explained where I stood before. If I was Richie's mother (I'd look like he did at the Kentucky derby Today Show ) but I'm not *sigh of relief* so I won't defend him tooth and nails, I'm just trying to balance opinions and comments because these days this board is all about Saint Jon-the-flawless vs Richie the loser/has-been/trainwreck and I find it stupid and childish. Richie has devoted 30 years to the band, he has earned the right to now go at his own pace as he put it. I'm happy to see him happy because he can do what he likes best and I can't wait to hear his next album. I can't say the same about Jon or BJ next album whichever it will be because Jon doesn't seem to enjoy making music anymore so I'm afraid the next one will be just another WAN if not worse.

Anyway, back to business now!
Orianthi will be playing there May 17th, Richie's not listed, but he may guest, who knows?

I created both threads for the same reason--streamlining. Do we NEED a NEW thread for everything to do with Jon's philanthropic work? To me it's getting cluttersome since something is popping up pretty much weekly at least. Also, I think it makes sense to keep a history in one place. BTW... every new sticky goes to the top of the board when it's made. I didn't "place" it there. Every sticky that is replied to goes to the top of the board. So if someone replies to the youtube thread it will go to the top of the board. Pay attention. Whatever is replied to last is at the top.

Do we NEED a NEW thread for every time Richie/Ori play at an event? The reason I put Richie/Ori Appearances in the "Tour Forum" is because most of their appearances have been PERFORMANCES. I didn't put it here to "hide" it or anything stupid like that. The reasoning was because their appearances together are mostly at shows where they're actually playing music. And, again, I liked the idea of keeping the history in one place. If you want me t move it to the General Forum, I can. It's really not a conspiracy. It's not lack of organization--it's an attempt AT organization.

ETA: You know what.... if you want to post a new thread for every appearance Richie/Ori make, go ahead. I don't really care. Put them in whatever forum you think they belong in. Maybe your goal is to create as many threads as possible.

My thought was, however, along the lines of how nice it would have been if someone had made threads 10 years ago for things such as "Award Show Appearances" and "TV Show Appearances" and each one had been posted chronologically with a link as it happened so that NOW someone could go back and view the history in order. Or even if we had had threads for "Crush TV Show Appearances" "Bounce TV Show Appearances" etc... just something more organized than here a thread, there a thread, everywhere a thread, thread.

****ing hell, serious business here. I'm sure there's more important things to worry about than the placing of threads in here.
