OK, so you expect people to know how this forum works from a technical point of view? Give me a break! Thanks for the explanation though. FYI, all the forums I know except this one have sticky threads that really are sticky threads, i.e. the order in which they appear doesn't change with each new posted message, which is a lot more convenient.


We have the same goal and you would understand it if you weren't so biased.
Organization is 1 item per file, 1 file per item. On the internet as in the real world. I'm not psychorigid but I like to be able to find what I'm looking for in a snap. My worry is that when you put all R&O appearances/performances in one big thread or Jon's hum. awards events in one big thread for example it makes it impossible both for regular Jovitalkers and non-registered visitors to find one specific event because all the different events are mixed together on several pages and nobody's willing to go through dozens of pages to find one specific piece of information. Pay attention. The same info is posted by different people on the same page just because most people don't read others' messages before posting theirs. So don't expect people to care for all-purpose threads which appear even more messy than a thread dedicated to one and only event. It's not personal, it's just a question of logical thinking. Pay attention. It's not the first time I ask why people are posting current news items in old threads where they don't belong or, for example, R&O's gigs in the thread about their album but nobody cares of course so I gave up and decided to participate in this mess myself too 'cuz let's go crazy!
Oh well, never mind! I'm being too concerned, I know, once a teacher always a teacher I guess! You know the movie quote, "You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: those with loaded guns ... and those who dig. ... You dig."

Pay attention! It's 2015. There. is. no. current. tour.
e.g. a visitor looking for any BJ guy's latest appearances won't visit the Tour Discussion section because it's not logic, plain and simple. (yeah! that's my inner Mr. Spock speaking! )
But once again, never mind! This board is your toy, not mine, do whatever you want with it.



End of my digression.

I spent about 6 years on the moderating team of another message board and it was organized completely differently than this one. At first I was taken aback because users were not even allowed to post new threads. Everything had its place. I thought that was very restrictive, but I saw that it actually worked very well as far as being organized. That board was for a TV show. There was a forum for each season. Each episode had a thread. There was a forum for the actors. Each actor had ONE thread. There was a forum for main characters. Each main character had ONE thread. There was one thread for spoilers. Each ship had one thread, etc...

Here--if you were wondering "Was the band on Letterman to promote Bounce?" it would simplify things if there was a thread for "Bounce TV Appearances" because you would know exactly where to go to find the info.

You have your definition of organization. That's fine. But there are over 60,000 threads here. That is not organization.

BTW, you want to call me biased and nitpick... why aren't you bitching at these people for posting "appearances" in the "Tour" thread:

Hmmmm... it seems to me you need to sit down and have a good long discussion with yourself, Old Joysey, because you keep posting appearances (much like the Kentucky Derby thing) in the tour forum and I was just following your lead!

But like I already said--post your Richie/Ori stuff wherever you want. I don't really care. I was just trying to get things organized.

I think the problem people have with Richie is that now when he and Jon are going solo, and Jon being million times more popular than Richie, when Jon is doing these small shows and appearances, he is admired cause he finds time and interest to do that. When surely there would be bigger bucks for Jon to chase. Richie is doing his bizarre mall openings and jamming with horses because, let's face it, that's pretty much the best he can do at this moment... And it migh seem sad for some people.

Didn't Richie show up at a Billy Joel show? Any clips of it?
