That version of Prayer is bloody awful, he should be embarrassed. How many times has he played that solo and still he manages to balls up? Half the people on this board could play it better than that!

Indeed!

The drummer, the sax's and some other musicians were amazing but... that was horrible. Richie has drunk the rum stock of Jack Sparow's Black Pearl and plays like an amateur. On the last chorus he even hugs the singer with one hand and with the other plays the chords! "ok maybe I'm not playing the best now but **** it I'm legend and I can do whatever I want"

And of course he doesn't feel ashamed. He is ok with that, that's why he make appearances similar to that one for 2 years.

You might want to consider changing your user name?

WTF was that ? He's not there to hang his arm around the singer or wave his arms. He's there to play guitar and sing. That was just tragic to witness. What a shame, O.A.R. is a great band and that could have been a great performance.

Who made that rule? Methinks he joins other bands backstage and onstage to enjoy himself. Playing music is/should be about enjoying yourself first and foremost. Some still believe in it, some forgot it.

There was a party onstage, most of the other musicians hugged each other too, and the 45,000 spectators seemed to have enjoyed the moment and the karaoke part too so why bitching about a show you guys didn't attend? If Richie wants to play the LOAP solo differently, why not? He's not into a cover band, he doesn't have to play note for note, and if he misses 1 or 2, wtf? it's not classical music, it's only r'n'r!

There's a difference between varying a solo and ****in' it up. In the mid-90's he often didn't stick to the original formula of his solos, yet they sounded great and fitted the music. This was just ****ed up and he sounded completely off.

That's what I've been realizing on several vids of him from the last two years. Where he used to be a god when it came to improvising a certain solo or song on the spot, he seems to have lost this talent completely and most of his efforts in doing so recently have been rather poor.
