BTW, yes, I completely agree with the last part of your argument. Those are in fact pop attributes. Living Proof is a really good pop song in my opinion, with retro sound and attitude evocative of vintage Jovi. It's not more "rocking" than several recent songs. But it's "better" in a way that there is an honest, rebellious attitude in that chorus, that reminds me personally of young band's resolve, but with genuine, old age perspective that is here and now. This was in my eyes sorely missed, even though whole song is not completely immersed in it.
I'm not disputing the positivity. It's just ridiculous how some people need to come up with stuff to justify they simply like a song

So this is a song about having a dream and chasing it, till you find the Bright Lights." - Aldo Nova.

It might be one of those changes that Phil talked about where he made some suggestion for the bridge and Jon approved
I think it took the song in a misdirection, but that is just IMHO. I wanted more of a harder edge to the solo myself. However, that might not have actually fit the song either. All I know is that I thought the song was going somewhere it didn't actually go. That being said to me it is the closest thing to a old time Bon Jovi song I have heard for some time so I'll take it. I've certainly played it enough on streaming already.

Yeah, I’d love to hear Living Proof live. But in a mashup with contestants on a show rather than with the band? Absolutely not, I wanna see Jon do that one with his crew behind him and see if Phil improves on that solo in a live setting!

I think Living Proof is a more fun and appealing track, so it’s a shame not to have the eyes on it, but Legendary was a better choice for the context even if it isn’t going to set the world on fire.

Same ol' drivel. I haven't read this thread but I'm pretty surprised that this was so popular on social media when it's so poor lyrically, vocally and just overall as a song. This is 100% a Shanks-era song, didn't fans hate those?

The talk box is nails on chalkboard and the solo the worst I've ever heard in a Bon Jovi song. I can't say I'm disappointed because I only hope for a couple good songs every once in a while and I don't believe that Jon's voice will improve, but as someone who still loves THINFS I also lowkey hope for another similar album and even with such low expectations they still keep making worse and worse music

So, if this was not performend on American Idol, I'm wondering if we will get the video at all? And will this song be promoted in any other way...

I think what gets grating is this courtesy wasn't extended to the people who genuiely found stuff to really enjoy over the last two or three albums, The goalposts keep getting moved to support the same arguments being made on the opposite side of things. A lot of 2020 and This House feels like it was "written off" for a lot of reasons, so if people are feeling annoyance their love of this song isn't being as reciprocated, imagine what that's like over and over again.

Some people here surely have "2020 was the only album I didn't bother buying" copied and pasted to just remind everyone.

Well true to some extent, but my point is really similar to your in that part. As I think positivity should not be frowned upon, as well as (long) arguments why something is good. I for one can be very critical of WAN, while at the same time I think 2020 has the best possible production to accommodate Jon's really weak vocals on it.

And then it's not only the songs without context, but songs with ailing voice and no Richie, everything was kind of gloomy. While now I think there is real hope and encouragement. Bring now 2020 or This House in this contemporary context, it probably sways some people's opinions the other way

Hear hear. Well said.

I loved THINFS and 2020. Plenty of rock songs on both. I totally get why other people don't like it.

These threads have become so tiresome because the same old voices endlessly saying the same things.

Agree!
Those two albums are way better than Corcle and WAN in my ears
