Yeah, I don't get the praise.

He still sounds worse than he did at the end of 2013, which was horrible. He can't even sing the Who Says chorus properly. That's like praising Jon in 2020 for sounding like he did in 2016.

the last years jon looks much less confident than i m used to..

his voice problems and richies absence make him less natural as a performer.

i want to believe he will be able to regain some of his range, jon can stil sing beautifully in the lower registries(which is harder than most people realise) but his higher range is gone, in adition bj back catalogues demanding vocals dont help.

jon is a smart guy and i guess realises he has to try hard to prove himself again.

ps. i liked the guitar duet/duel as stage presence, i d prefer richie back for sure but still the stage balance is better, its rockier and interesting in comparison to bobby and matt

Not good, but surely better than the 2015 Tour.

And as to the "gtfoh" comment, i think I am perfectly entitled to my opinion, and If yours is different: fine, but no reason whatsoever for becoming rude, disrespectful and uncivilized.
As someone stated, they are two different types of Rock vocalists that cannot really be compared, so its Up to subjective judgment. That being said, i would take Richie in his prime or even ten years ago years ago over phil anytime, but Not the sloppy detoriated Richie we've Seen in 2014-2015, for example.
I also think that this wouldn't be the right time for Richie to come back, after All what happened (though i'm actually a Richie Fan, love his three albums and am very excited for the New One)

I was searching around in youtube... How come there is no video of them performing the new songs? Has anybody find THINFS or Knockout live?

Loved that guitar duel stuff too!

Still I would rate matt higher than bobby. And, to be fair, shanks did Not really have a Chance to do some genuine Show yet on that small stage. The chemistry between phil and matt was good, and phil and shanks seem to get along with each other very good as well. So why Not Put Up a little Show when the Situation allows it? Very excited for stuff like that to happen.

Thumbs down

Who Says sounds ok to me...but Bad Medicine...at the beginning of the first verse, it's almost like he's afraid to try to hit the notes...when he does try later in the song you can tell he can't quite cut it. He seems to be experimenting a bit with a new way of singing the older songs...but really it just emphasizes the fact that he's voice has deteriorated...

I wonder why they chose to include Bad Medicine, as it's obviously the 80's era songs that give Jon the most trouble. Maybe that's the easiest of the 80's stuff for him to do....

Somehow I would like to see shanks doing the solo on THINFS. he did that in the Studio, his solo actually fits the Song and they need a HAND-style dual-lead Setup for this Song anyways.

Need I remind you that YOU are the one who initially compared them saying Richie doesn't sing as well as Phil nowadays??

This has ZERO to do with what types of solo vocalists they are, but everything to do with their backing vocals in Bon Jovi, which is why I posted a 2016 video of Richie singing a Bon Jovi song. He sings, Phil screams.
