You are aware that he probably gets off on the fact that he clearly gets to you yeah? Why rise to it?

I don't think they'll make a big deal out of it if Richie comes back. I mean, if I miss a week of work because I have the flu, no one throws confetti because I'm doing my job again. I don't think Richie will be due any pomp and circumstance for doing his freaking job either.

Anyone subscribe to Boston Globe? According to the headline, Jon talks about touring without Richie in this article. I have no desire to subscribe to the website just to see the article though.

Maybe you're in the wrong job Becky?

Nothing new in the Boston Globe article. The only thing about Richie was that he is welcome back, there is a seat on the plane, and that he loves him. Richie just needs to work through personal issues and when that is done he will be back. Rest was pretty much standard questions plus a few about his Patriot wardrobe.

You're not kidding! I like what I do, but I definitely should have gone into something more lucrative back when I had the brains and time and scholarships/daddy footing the bill to study whatever I wanted.

Public service announcement: don't go into education related fields.

PS: thanks for the summary jovigirlCT.

That's weird. I'm not subscribed to it, yet I can read it just fine. In fact, I'd just come here to post it.

Here's the part about Richie (it seems like an interesting interview, if anyone's interested, I can copy and paste the entire thing in the General section):

Quote:
Q. I saw you in Nashville in March. At what point in the tour are you now? In the groove? Getting in a rut? Shaking up the set list to keep it fresh?

A. Oh, sure. I looked at [the] Nashville [set list] yesterday, that was a good night. The set list doesn’t resemble that at all, not even remotely. It evolves constantly. Now I’m at the point where once we get to encore land I’ll just look out as far as my eyes allow me to see and I see the banners that are song requests. We play a long time, so we can do a lot of things. This poor man Phil X [Xenidis] who’s playing guitar for us now, helping [fill in for Sambora], is like, “I don’t know that one.” And I say, “Ah, go take a break, we know it don’t worry about it.” [Laughs] So we’re in a groove.

Q. Phil X has filled in with you all before, correct? How did you find him?

A. Yeah, we’ve run into this before, and he was a friend of a friend. He learned the stuff and filled in for 15 shows, and then this year when the circumstance became what it is, he was in Los Angeles and I said, “Can you come?” And he said, “Yeah, I remember everything.” So for the time being he’s doing us a great favor.

Q. Is there any timetable for Richie rejoining the band? I know you’ve said that the door is open.

A. The door is wide open, there’s a seat on the plane. Love him to death, but until he gets through his personal issues we have to go on, not only for us but for the crew and the fans and the commitment to the record and everything else. Time waits for no one, right? So I can’t not do what we do.
It is worth noting two things:
- The interview took place while Jon was in Manchester (June 8-ish), as did the other couple that came up these days. It looks like they're not allowed to publish these things before a month is passed, there's no other explanation, I think.
- Just like the latest interview, this was edited as well. Although, there's no punctuation here to tell us where. "Interview has been edited and condensed."

The link has already been posted, but just for completeness' sake: http://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/musi...ifP/story.html

Excerpt on the Richie topic. Same old...

Edited to add: guess we all found it at the same time.

Richie with the duo Hudson Taylor in L.A.; he shared his words of wisdom and gave them two of his guitars:
