Your friend will have to request the refund, but there should be no reason you can't get one.

Defend Richie, defend Jon, defend your son going to ballet school. I really don't give a shit. Both sides are wrong in how they've handled this with the fans. Unprofessional, disrespectful and childish. No excuses on either part.
Agreed!!!!

Spakart are quite slow it seems responding to emails or they are very busy haha. No news regarding FC refunds has been posted as of yet.

Mine has been refunded from a UK ticket agency. Eventim were offering refunds before the news was posted on bonjovi.com

And for those who say "What about the rest of the guys in the band?" - I saw 4 shows with Phil X in May 2011. (No refunds were offered then, and we had no solid statement confirming that Richie was really out for the whole leg.) I gave it a try - four actually. They weren't awful shows, but they weren't what I signed up for. And they certainly weren't something I was willing to spend all that money on. As I've said before, Phil X did a credible job for the most part, but he massacred Dry County, IMO. (And when that's your favorite song, that makes it a very big deal.) Most importantly, being able to play the music isn't the whole deal. There just wasn't any magic. It didn't "feel" like a Jovi show without Jon and Richie up there doing what they always do. Furthermore, without Richie to interact with and while "giving 100%" as so many people have said, Jon turned into someone who spent so much time flirting with fans and doling out kisses during Bed of Roses that I actually felt uncomfortable. (If that's 100%, I'll take whatever it is that he usually expends.) So unless Jovi is really Jovi - and how can I ever expect that it's going to be - I'm done. After coming home sky-high from the shows in Europe in 2011, I couldn't have imagined that I'd feel like this now.
+1. I've seen 3 shows without Richie now and all three rank as my bottom 3Bon Jovi shows. And the claim that Jon gives "100%" and performs better because Richie is gone is complete BS in my opinion. I don't know where that claim started but it's not true.

Even with Richie gone the Euro setlists will still probably see a lot of improvements and more rarities/TD songs than the US leg. But I would advise the Euro fans to not go to more than one or two shows and/or downgrading your tickets if you bought diamond circle.

I know exactly what you're saying, I wouldn't enjoy it half as much as a full band being there. This is why I have now chosen to go to one show be it the Isle Of Wight festival and not Hyde Park, I personally feel that IOW will be a much better show as they have a wider audience to please that are not going just to see the circus that has now become Bon Jovi. The IOW is just across the water from me so I don't have to travel too far home afterwards.

I did downgrade my ticket for Manchester from DC to GA but as soon as I found out refunds were being offered I got the refund.

I don't want to cause my friend any trouble...I'll be happy if I can sell it but will anyone be interested in a £170 ticket??? Doubt it...

Thank you Yvonne!

If you'd seen Jon in OKC (Richie's 2nd to last show) and Dallas 3 weeks later, you would have noticed a night and day difference... anyone would have. I can't speak for every show, but in general, I do believe that JBJ works harder when he knows he has to carry the show without Richie.
