In theory it's a great question to ask and to speculate. His backing vocals would have added a lot but I think the solos or lack there of would still have been there. The lyrics probably would have been weaker considering his departure was an emotional catalyst it seems for Jon.

We can keep the thread going, I just would love to see it without cheap shots to either side.
