They probably are waiting for the album to be released before playing their collaborative material so it won't wind up online. I heard that when Def Lep was touring prior to their new album coming out, they were specifically saying they weren't playing anything new so it wouldn't wind up on You Tube.

It seems to me that they should play at least a couple new songs to garner some interest/excitement for the RSO project.

Well, I can get the fact that there's a small number of people that know his solo stuff by heart. It just strikes me odd that he leaves Bon Jovi to invest in his own career, but doesn't seem to believe in his own material.

I can't see Richie getting the recognition he wants by peforming half his live set of covers. One or two can be nice, but the amount he is peforming now strikes me as pretty unserious and shows an artist that doesn't believe in his own material. Hell, if he doesn't want to play his own material, why not breath some new life into a couple of Jovi tunes, at least he's the writer to most of those.

Maybe I'm looking into this to much, and hopefully things will change once the new album is released. I just can't see Richie teaming up with Orianthi being a win for him. It feels like he is promoting her career at the expense of his own.

My opinion? They don't feedback... and that's a problem. don't know interact together, no chemistry between them, is too obvious.

They need someone to tell them what they are doing right and wrong.

Orianthi could sing a few verses of I'll Be There for you as Richie did in his Stranger tour, which was fantastic.

Candidate for understatement of the decade -- less than 3 hours later, this turned up on TMZ:

The woman singing with Sambora is Orianthi, who's currently touring with him. That's it, making her sound like an alpha groupie with benefits. TMZ being what it is, it's impressive enough that someone there knew (and could spell) her name. But apparently they didn't see her as being worth the time it would take to run her through Wikipedia. The commenters had to fill in the blanks -- "the guitar-playing blonde that was in the...last rehearsal video with Michael Jackson"; "Great guitarist & she is gorgeous"; "She does a pretty good version of...Voodoo Child."

But while even that was better than nothing at all, it also underscores what many of us have been expressing about Orianthi as far back as two and half years ago: Despite their sound problems, the past two concerts have shown that she's too generic vocally (her attempts at sounding bluesy are embarrassing) and too stagnant musically (she can't even play backup rhythm guitar) to either front or co-front a band. She comes across more like one of those women who carry the numbered placards between the rounds of a boxing match.

RSO - Sambora/Orianthi - How do you sleep - Auditório Ibirapuera - Samsung Best of Blues - YouTube
That's precisely why she's the weak link in Richie's chain. She's had two years during which to strengthen it, but no one should be expected to go from zero to "serious" guitarist in such a short time. Who does she think she is anyway, him? Oh, wait a second...

Richie Sambora - Wanted - Brazil 7/10/2016

Agree - saw someone on harmony.com say what is still so correct imo. "If she wasn't a girl, would still be making You Tube videos in her Daddy's basement." So she's doing them with her sugar daddy instead. She plays flashy for attention (even Cooper said that she was flashy, why he hired her) and needs to stop trying to sing.

I think people are being WAY too harsh on her. She's had some good success on her own so I'm not sure why people are acting like she was a nobody when she joined Richie's band. Personal preference is one thing but ignoring credentials entirely is another.
