Cancelling the shows signals to poor ticket sales. A throat problem would go away in a week or two.

true. But the East-Coast dates are from tomorrow on, not in one week or two.

Heartbroken. I was about 400 miles into today's 720 mile drive when a friend called with the news. I was doing the shows in Philly, Toronto and NYC and just yesterday bought a plane ticket for San Francisco. I hope they won't keep us hanging regarding the California shows. If they're going to be cancelled, too, just tell us. And do it sooner rather than later. I can't get an actual refund, but I can get a credit for all but $75.00 of the plane ticket if I cancel it.

I feel really bad for you. I have tickets for San Francisco and I'm just gutted. My girlfriend has been asking me every 20 minutes what is wrong with me.

Even though the California shows have not been cancelled, I fear it is only a matter of time. I hope they do it soon, if they do, so I don't keep holding out hope just to have them cancel right before the show. Even now I've been trying to convince myself that the SF show could still happen.

I am pissed, and I don't buy the health excuse for a second TBH. Either way, there's no way these shows get made up when automatic refunds are already being given out.m

That really sucks. Sorry to anybody with tickets.

Not totally sure what to believe is the reason. I think there's a chance that Richie is actually sick, but if it's due to poor ticket sales, that's pretty lame.

I feel sorry for all the fans with tickets for these shows and I don't know if I buy the health excuse like others have said. Bon Jovi have a 2013 schedule that's being laid out for the better part of the year so I highly doubt the shows are really to be re-scheduled for 2013 (unless it's really early 2013). And even if it does, there's really no guarantee that the shows will sell any better, maybe the casual fan interest/curiosity will have dried out by then....

Real shame about this and i'm really quite surprised.

I think if it was laryngitis we'd have known about it on Tuesday, surely you would have seen signs? Under 24 hours is not a long time to suddenly contract something like that and know its bad enough to cancel the remainder of the tour.
Equally ticket sales is surprising, the venues werent exactly ambitious in size and i'm sure the promoter could have discounted and run promotions to shift the remainder of the house.

Makes me even more happy about Tuesday.

I am so sorry for you Terri but I'm sure he'll be fine for the Cali shows. He is actually still in London, apparently flying home today and from what I've heard the East Coast shows were almost sold out. Didn't hear anything in his voice on Tuesday but he was drinking A LOT of tea for his throat though (and yeah it was tea....)

I'm sorry for you, guys, but the fact is that Richie might be actually ill. I read here, and hear in Berlin from people who was at both shows, that he had some voice problems during the first shows in Amsterdam. He was said to be suffering from a cold, but you don't have to be a doctor to understand it might have been the beginning of the laringitis. And even if they could make him feel better enough to continue the tour till London (he was drinking something hot during the Berlin show, which seemed to be some kind of hot anti-flu drug), it might have been too much for his throat. I hope the American shows would really be only postponed, not cancelled. Fingers crossed for you and Richie
