The Runaways Tours VIP show is still on, and always was. The band was going to be in Vancouver anyway, and they had planned to do a second show anyway. So it isn't as though some major sacrifice is going on.
As for Jon having to take a huge loss, Paper Rain
did pay him -- the real problem was that they couldn't pay anyone else, LOL! At worst, he will have to pay the band out of what he was paid. Throw in concession and merchandising revenue from Rogers Arena that will he now won't have to share with a promoter, and there's a very decent chance that he'll break even.
