Here it is

Combining the dark-tinged heaviness of 7800 Farenheit, and the catchy anthemic writing of Slippery When Wet, this is truly the most f****** awesome moment of 80's hard rock/hair metal. Every single song is infused with an incredible amount of character. Jon's voice is as wild and unrestrained as it ever gets, he arguably sounded better on future recordings, but never again was his voice unleashed quite like this. Richie continuing to develop his hard rock riffage and solos to devestating affect, and experementing with great results in places (the crazy instrumental freakout midsection of Homebound Train for example; or the spine-tingling intro to Wild Is The Wind). Tico's drumming sounding better than ever, especially on Blood On Blood, one of his finest moments IMO; and of course the classic intro to Lay Your Hands On Me. Dave for the most part reprises his role from SWW as a backing rather than a lead instrumentalist, although he also has one of his most memorable "riffs" (what do you call it on a keyboard anyway?) in Bad Medicine. Actually thinking about it, he's fairly prominent in a few others as well. Maybe I just don't notice his contributions as much. Whoever is playing the bass, as usual I don't notice them very much, except in I'll Be There For You, where the bass is wonderful! But still, it's not the individual parts that make this album great, its how it all works together to create the perfect hard rock atmosphere. This is the sound of a band on top of their game, although as we've seen, it didn't come without cost.

I can't be bothered to do a track by track review, so here's a really quick round up:

Amazing Killer songs:
Blood On Blood
Born To Be My Baby
I'll Be There For You
Wild Is The Wind

Awesome songs:
Homebound Train
Lay Your Hands On Me
Livin' In Sin

Great songs:
Ride Cowboy Ride/Stick To Your Guns (always count it as one song)
Love For Sale

Good songs:
Bad Medicine

Not too bad songs:
99 In The Shade

10/10 for this album by far, one of the best albums ever

Keep On Rockin'

Memories it brings back :

Blood On Blood, Born To Be My Baby, I'll Be There For You - Hyde Park 2003

Listening to Born To Be My Baby when I was going out with a girl for the first time (it only lasted three days!)

The same song, as well as Wild Is The Wind, bringing me out of a dark place when said girl later turned me down

Listening to the album on the long journey from New York to New Hampshire on a skiing trip, esp. Wild Is The Wind and Homebound Train

Countless hours spent trying to do the screams on Homebound Train, Livin' In Sin, I'll Be There For You

Listening to the album for the first time.... the drum intro of Lay Your Hands On Me playing into almost complete darkness

Listening to it while playing fantastic computer games such as Resident Evil Zero and Metroid Prime last year.

Reciting the banter in Love For Sale to amuse myself

Listening to the album on New Year's Eve last year, getting ready to go party!

Singing along to Wild Is The Wind, and Ride Cowboy Ride / Stick To Your Guns with my best mate the other day

Keep On Rockin'

I often couldn't make up my mind as to whether I liked Bounce or New Jersey more and I often flip-flopped (sorry, had to use that term) between the two. I only recently decided that Bounce was my favorite since it holds such special memories for me, but New Jersey, in my opinion, is THE BEST FREAKIN' ALBUM THAT BON JOVI HAS EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every track is ingenious and individual. No two songs are about the same thing. It also has mind-blowing guitar work, stellar vocals, and even humor. I always laugh at the end of Love for Sale even though I've heard the song over 20 times. And of course, Born to be My Baby is one of my top five favorite songs.
