Chicago Fire/PD/Med/Justice

Does anyone else watch these shows? PD is back on tonight. Fire is coming back in less than two weeks (that's my favorite because I love Jesse Spencer) and Med premieres in November.

I'm looking forward to getting closure on the Fire cliffhanger and seeing how Casey and Dawson handle her pregnancy. I enjoy the way the characters from the three shows pop up on the other ones and you can even throw Med in that statement since they already launched the show in a way during an episode of Fire and Jay's brother from Med has been on PD several times.

Chicago Med has already been renewed for next year--pretty impressive for a show that's only aired about 5 episodes.

Dick Wolf has signed a major deal with NBC through 2020.

“I have a very firm belief the ‘Chicago’ shows are really the first and last of this type of major integrated programming we’ll see,” Wolf said. “We hopefully in the future will come up with something else that spawns multiple shows, but I don’t think you’re going to have all four points on the compass covered with shows that interact this seamlessly with each other.”

Moreover, Wolf notes that at a time when TV viewing is becoming ever-more diffuse, the combined viewership of “Chicago” and “SVU” series combined is approaching some 50 million viewers a week when the L7 ratings are factored in.
