You can hear the beginning of it during the last seconds of the original Runaway. Its defnitely the same style/sound/era.

Well it's "Bon Jovi the band" 40 this year so we will see other special editions too. I guess Sambora wouldnt be back to the band just for the debut album celebrations...

We already have a New Jersey Super Deluxe Edition from 2014 and I did wonder at the time if we’d get similar reissues of other albums. They could give Slippery When Wet the same treatment as the New Jersey 2014 Deluxe Editon (2CD/DVD) with demos and the “The Videos” VHS. Same for Keep the Faith, but I don’t think New Jersey 2014 sold so well. I think these quick, easy digital reissues are going to be the way forward for now.

Sure but why would he ask someone who didn't play on the song originally to play an extended solo.

All my money is on this being an extended take from the original sessions.

Either an extended take or Jon invited Tim Pierce back in. That Richie suggestions are bogus given he's not featured on the Runaway recording anyway

You have a much better shot asking Tim, he's pretty accessible for questions.

But again, Richie didn't play on the song, I can't think of a single reason why it would be him, including the fact it doesn't sound like him.

The extended solo is not new. It's credited to Tim, and THE MIX is from 2024, very clear to me
