Whatever you want to believe, it's clear that it was Jon's decision to leave and that Bon Jovi will have an album out next spring so not being with UMG is not going to keep him from releasing music.

Whatever you want to believe, it's clear that it was Jon's decision to leave because he didn't accept the new terms of his contract so the Universal execs gave him an ultimatum: "join or leave".

Nobody said it would.

They’re also betting that Springsteen has more classic new work in him. (It’s a safe bet.)
Of course it's all ultimately one great big gamble: Bruce could be kidnapped by space aliens tonight!
But the bottom line is, it's a gamble that Sony is willing to take -- the same gamble they took on Michael Jackson, winning catalog and publishing rights that have only increased in value since his death. While Jon may believe he is (or should be) in a similar position, he isn't anymore.

ok just bought from ponomusic - we should add that to the wonderful op - great work on that!

just listened to the HD files on this absurdly ridiculous setup i have and i cant call it a masterpiece only because i have only listened once and i almost cant believe it....

and it, to me anyway, is clearly the follow up to DA...but these are the best lyrics, deepest sounding, eclectic mix of songs possibly since DA...

ill admit i havent even listened to WAN ive been so put off lately - possibly only reason i bought and listened to this was bec its HD and i liked the first couple...

but yeah....this is why i am a fan and always will be - still the best songs...

i even like the dance number take bake the night with ironically the best guitar solo in years...(possibly only because its a relief its only one song and im still wondering how i feel about the new Grace....(terri))

fingerprints is a masterpiece

blind love is a masterpiece

the rest is all very very good and like DA i suspect will grow because of the depth...

well done...

i even enjoyed mikes singing on BB

go team

Mike Rew (sound engineer?). According to the song credits on bj.com he's in the choir alongside the rest of the band, including Tico and Hugh.

Tico's apparently singing on "I'm Your Man" too, but I can't detect him.

As they say, "It will all come out wash day" and I don't think wash day will get here while they're still on UMG with a new CD just released from that label.

Don't expect any further comments from UMG/Mercury than the one in Billboard, they're businessmen, they know better!
As for Jon, whatever happened to his famous beloved motto "we don't wash our dirty laundry in public"? He really let the punk within come out with BB (the song + the whole album)!
