Difficult to predict but I hope they spend a little more time polishing the vocals.

One would think, less time on a free Christmas song and more time on an official album but who knows these days.

I'm struggling a little adjusting to Jon's current voice. And the end of the day, I'll take this over nothing at all.

No, better (in my opinion). I’d also say the vocals sound better than on Story Of Love because there’s less of that nasal Mickey Mouse tone, although that might just be a personal preference.

I'm with you on this. Still not great vocals but definitely easier to listen too than the songs you mentioned.

It all sounds lazy, but I can see why they haven't bothered to put in much effort.

They have used two delay effects (reverb+echo) on the vocal track, and it sounds terrible and a bit exaggerated.

No, this will definitely not be taken as a reference for the new album. In fact, it reminds me more of the 2020 Christmas recordings, but with the difference that the instruments have been recorded in a real studio in separate parts instead of recording them together live.

To be honest I liked the 2020 Christmas songs more, as they felt less artificial. I have a problem with the instrumental part, it all seems recorded by a Fisher Price toys.

Take it as it is, a harmless Christmas song.

Interesting! Did they talk about this somewhere or is a hunch? (FWIW I truly don't think the 2020 songs were done live. There's footage of them recording their parts separately and spliced together. I'm not sure if they were miming the pre-recorded parts or if the performance from that audio were the final version buuuut those videos were studio trickery unfortunately)

Probably, but it feels and sounds like a live take.

Anyway, it doesn't matter, it is what it is. By the way, there are parts of the melody in the song that remind me of America The Beautiful.

Agreed! One on acoustic and one on electric makes me feel this was done off the floor so big fan of that.

I feel that these types of vocals will keep it from being played on the radio. Fans are somewhat forgiving because they know the deal but the general population will rip it up.

It's a shame because it's a decent song and there are so many stations that play Holiday tracks but unfortunately, it will just stay as a fan track.

My man booper, it's been a while.

I disagree - I don't think it's a shame that a shit Christmas song doesn't get played. I'd rather listen to Buble and Mariah Carey all day long
