I think it’s better than a lot are saying…and we’re judging it from a slightly distorted recording. Like the negative comments, I agree that it lacks a solo - but I like everything else about it. I do fear the studio version will feature the “wall of sound” - very much like When We Were Us as previously commented. Let’s not forget though that is a first single - which needs to be radio friendly and safe.

i like it for what it is..
A nice uplifting song, with a nice positive message and a catchy chorus...
not impressed but liked it truly, also jon was confident and happy and his vocal delivery certainly is an improvement, and also dont forget we ve all listened undoctored footage...

Exacly, Jon was confident and happy with his vocal delivery, mostly for his standard nowdays it was a decent performance and it’s an undoctored footage.

He did a good performance also with Bruce Springsteen.

One's also gotta be realistic though. It was one song with full lead vocals and even though the timing has gotten better, his voice was in shambles by the time they hit the third chorus. As Seb said, by then it was mostly the rest of the band doing it and you wouldn't have heard a difference if Jon had walked off the mic there. And the song's not in a demanding key.
So yeah, for one song on that occasion, it was okay. But it's nowhere near a touring voice either.

I really like the song! Love the energy it gives and how proud of it they all seemed.

People ragging on "Phil said more guitars, he's a liar waahh!", yes, he also said "there are the singles, and then there are the songs that to me...." So he clearly made the distinction to separate whatever the singles are and the songs he was referring to....

We probably have 2 singles.

Legendary will serve to promote the 40th anniversary documentary. And later, the second single will come that could really boost the new album.

I'm curious what the voice will sound like in the studio. I hope it's much better than Christmas Isn't Christmas.

I really like it. Nice vibe and a really catchy, upbeat melody. I wouldn't say his vocals were good but as a performance it was a hell of a lot better than I was expecting.

Nice.

Jon mentioned another song on the red carpet called "Kiss the bride". I wouldn't be surprised if that was the second single and then nothing after it. I highly doubt anything they release is gonna get much airplay, but I'm still looking forward to the new music!

Same feeling. Very happy to know that soon we will discover new songs. It's quite a journey.
