I am a huge Van Halen fan and while A Different Kind of Truth was mostly well received, the production was perhaps the thing that had the most criticism. At best the production is divisive for that record. I am not in the camp that Shanks is to blame for modern Bon Jovi, but I do generally dislike his production.
