Since I don't see the band booking a professional studio for one year (that shit is expensive!), I don't really see why they should already be in a "proper" studio.
Agreed. The line got blurred when Shanks got involved, most of the recording takes place at Henson studios in LA and the demos essentially become the record. So conceivably if he's there he could be recording the basic tracks. I don't know if he's foolish enough to go down that route again but with no Richie that's essentially what'll happen if it doesn't get resolved.

Doesn't matter whether it's credible or not. On every album since and including Crush (sans Lost Highway), Jon has said they were getting back to their roots on that given album. Still hasn't happened yet.

Honestly, until Jon does something about his vocals, I don't really care anyways.

It's not specifically Jon, it's the band's camp and even the press. It's like they forget what the album previous to it sounded like before they review it. I mean if you review Bounce to Have a Nice Day then yeah it's a return to rock if you consider This Left Feels Right was in between, ditto HAND, Lost Highway and The Circle, but you get my point.

I can see there maybe being security at a studio to keep tracks from leaking like they did for WAN. Usually leaks affect sales right?

Have any of their other albums leaked before WAN?

I feel like WAN took way longer to leak then most "big" albums.

I don't recall WAN leaking. Maybe a week? Jon and / or the band played 85% of the album live prior to its release..... Add that with the snippets and I really wasn't in a rush to find it either because I had the gist of it. I think I got it a few days early.

TC had a longer span between the leak and the release. That one was a few weeks

When HAND was released in '05, I wasn't that internet literate yet so I can comment on that one. Same for Lost Highway

I'd take this with a pinch of salt.

We all know Bon Jovi will never get back to their roots because Jon can't sing anymore and they have forgot how to write an album with rock songs and some strong ballads.

WAN leaked maybe a week before. HAND leaked months and months before in it's earliest version. I wasn't one of the lucky ones that heard it in advance but I know plenty of peple did here. I can't recall the rest. I know LH had snippets of songs we discovered on a site for determining what songs to make singles so we had the first verse and chorus of a good chunk of the album a few months in advance but as far as leaked to the world I can't remember. I think Bounce was too early to leak like it does today.

Lost Highway leaked about 3 days before it's German release, which was one of the countries to get the record first back then if I remember correctly. TC showed up about a week prior to its release.

I honestly don't remember much about the last few albums pre-release press, but has Jon himself actually said they were "returning to their roots"? To me, that just doesn't sound like something Jon would say because it could be perceived as going backward instead of forward. I don't care like I used to which is why I can remember something he said in 1991, but not 2011.
