Alright! Some FAQ, feel free to read it.

Q: What's the title of the thread?
A: New Bon Jovi Album
Q: And what are we posting in here?
A: Links and articles about the new album.
Q: And?
A: And we are discussing them, trying to explain them and of course trying to stay IN THE DUCKING TOPIC.

For God's sake, I visit this thread every once in a while and I notice "15 new replies" so I cheer raising my hands in the air thinking "Ooooh a new single should be out, someone posted and now they are all discussing it!". But no, it's an off topic discussion, again.

I have an idea and I request it as a small favor from our beloved admins. Can you please create an off topic section in the Bon Jovi section? In there, everyone who feels like sharing their irrelevant personal view on Jon, Richie, or whatever (or want to reply to someone who did that) could do it freely, openly, and he would be more than welcome. Also, when someone post an irrelevant reply in a thread and if this is possible, the admins could tranfer this reply to that off topic section.***

Stopping the expression of your personal views is NOT what I want. All that I am saying is, do it properly in the proper section. And leave this thread clean for discussing the news about the album.

*** If this is too much work for you, I understand. I also volunteer in being an admin in that section.

I'm all for keeping this thread on topic and making sure it's about new news but maing an off topic section doesn't make sense. Really any new thoughts should be their own topics s they are ON topic as to the band, just not to the album.

Going forward I'll try and be more diligent in keeping this thread on topic, if we could all do the same that would be great.

Your frustration comes with the fact that there is no new info posted about the new album period.

Understand this board runs in cycles. Richie drama aside, you could probably sum up the relevant information posted within the last 6 months on 2 pages collectively.

This board really isn't a community like others. It only comes alive during a new album and the remaining time is the same 12 people bitching in circles... I find it odd that people can't come up with more interesting topics to discuss..

As a matter of fact, the adverse effect happens closer to the album release date where 10 topics within the same subject are created and information is scattered all over in different section... Then you get the lurkers who only post when they want you to send them the new songs even though they are coming out a day later...

There is a definitely a greed that goes along with the fans, on both sides, and you would think that a band with a 30 year history and with a world wide following would have many more people contributing within other topics. I'm sure people have massive collections that aren't in circulations but yet they tend to hoard them even though they hold no real street value.

Since then, you've been nothing but negative yet your a new member. I don't understand. If you was a member on here for a while and came back, I would understand. But instead you came after BB because you quite liked it but now you act like that album didn't exist.

I see what you are saying about how Jon should only be doing this due to his own passion but how do you know he isn't? This is what I am trying to say on here. People are acting like they have heard the album and are writing it off already. Why? Just wait for it and see what you think when you put it on.
You misundestood me, or I didn't express myself as well as I thought (sorry, no time to triple check posts and some things are hard to articulate in another language, sometimes it takes forever lol). I love LOVE LOVE BB (hate "We all fall down" though) and it's one of the few post2000 that has stood the test of time. I assure you I won't ever change my mind about that album. I appreciate Jon getting out of his comfort zone, but what I was trying to say is that I'm not going to stand up and clap loudly because I know (and most of this board I'm sure will agree) that he could have done this type of album many times before and didn't for a myriad of reasons, the most powerful of all (IMHO) being FEAR of facing more criticism and losing the easy and seemingly loyal public the easy/bland/safe albums have gotten him. That's why my hopes for the new album went from sky high at the beginning to moderate optimism to "don't be silly, like he's going to take the risk". I obviously know nothing about it, other than a few comments here and there, but there's little room for optimism when all we get from the BJ camp are those ridiculously expensive fanclub trips which turn into poor concerts most of the time, and the things Jon says about the album seem a rehearsal of the same discourse over the years, only minor change being that "going back to the old studio" bit. I know that even if the new album was like WAN, I'm here until the bitter end, I had my "done with the band" phase that only made me realize how much they mean to me, but I want them to give it all, like I know they can. Not because they owe me (or the rest of the fans) anything, but because THEY ARE A DAMN GOOD BAND AND THE CRITICS CAN SHOVE THEIR OPINIONS WHEREVER THEY WANT AND LET THEM BE, I want them to stop hiding their good songs in b-sides and fan albums and stop worrying so much about what others think and being passionate and proud about their music. I care too much about the band to see how they are fading so fast and all that fans will remember will be the hits and an ageing band that was living in borrowed time for more than a decade. Because I think they are way better than that.

BTW, I was a *member* who never registered and I came back, both to the band and the forum thanks to BB, so you got that part almost right LOL. I recently discovered I had visited the board way longer than I remember, so yeah, an old member (not that it matters, being old, new or in-between, all opinions should be valid as long as they are respectful).

How people can say they are heartbroken is ridiculous. Many more things in the world to worry about.
When you are a fan of something for such a long time, yeah, you may feel a little bit heartbroken every once in a while because you invest so much in that fandom/passion. But it's not *real life* heartbreak, of course

I agree that we should have another topic to discuss our hopes/rants/expectations/disappointments regarding the new album, I didn't start a new one because I thought the mods wanted to have only one thread and from what I remember from other albums the discussion has been kept in one thread, whether it was the proper album info or the discussion about it.

To me, it's really interesting to talk about our different views/expectations. I decided to join in this discussion cos I was really curious about all the good vibes most people have in here, and I wanted to share my thoughts since I'm not as optimistic (although I'm much more optimistic than I was 5 years ago, that's quite the improvement). I've learnt a lot reading this board and I love discussing things, specially with people who I don't agree with. Respectfully, of course.

Sorry if it bothers you, I understand that all discussion up to this point it's just speculation and it may bother people who come here for the facts. If the mods decide to keep it *professional* in here, I hope there's another thread for more passionate discussion

There IS a thread to discuss hopes/expectations for 2016 where such discussion of the new album would be perfectly on topic.

Thank you for your understanding, Symbeline! Becky's response could solve all this matter!

Edit: I see that you already got it, but just to clarify it, it wasn't personal against some members of our board!

Alright where's the new disc godammit it's almost Valentine's day!

Perhaps we could begin again from this point by providing a quick summary of everything we know about the album so far. So people don't have to dig through ten pages of crap to see if there is new news. What I know so far;

1. New album is called this house is not for sale
2. Due out this year with a tour
3. It's a chip on the shoulder album (whatever that means)

hmmmmm

having worked my way through this group having not been on here in while. think I should put my own two cents into the group.

In terms of the album i reckon its done. i reckon management are going to silently announce the release date maybe a week or two before the due date. kinda like the way that Burning Bridges was announced.

in terms of content, i reckon there will be 12 tracks with one or two extras for special editions in different regions.

track one wont be the single. i really hope that its like this. opening with the lead single hasnt worked for the band in a while so we should pray for some change on that.

track three should be a solid ballad in the vain of Thank you for loving me.

but sure i can dream

also... i would love them to do a greatest hits album in the vain of Status Quos Aquostic album... would be so fun... better than that TLFR rubbish
