Thanks. It just seems from my perspective anything with John Shanks will be more looked at now after the Documentary.

If "Forever" is good, and some fans don't listen to it they may be regretting it due to their stance on Richie Sambora not being on it or John Shanks.

I'm actually pretty amazed at the backlash that Shanks is getting from the fan base after the documentary. I can't imagine that Jon thought it would get this much negativity towards him.

While it is a somewhat bland documentary in terms of a narrative arc, there is no doubt that Shanks is subtly painted as the villain. Not by Jon or the band, but by how the story is told. Chopra was likely looking for some kind of hook for controversy and found it in Shanks.

Jon won't care about fan backlash though. That is not bad per se, I think contempt for the fanbase is not a bad thing, he owes us nothing. Still, I do wonder how he has reacted to Shanks' portrayal in the series.

Some people don't think that Shanks is just a worker who only does the job he is paid for.
If Jon likes his way of work, why do they have to blame him for anything, mostly after the DOC, like it was his intention cause issues...

It doesn't matter to me if Shanks is there or not, but I was wondering in the back of my mind if some people might boycott the new album because of Shanks.

I think even the biggest fan of Richie will listen to the new album if it is good, regardless of Shanks. And if not, the number would be negligible and not move the dial at all.

I don't think that the major part of the people that will listen the new album will think as first thing about Shanks...

I don't see that happening it all, specially with the fan base already feeling positive with this new record.
