That was really enjoyable. I wish he wouldn't keep saying Richie doesn't want to come back though, there's footage of him out there form 12 months ago saying that he does. Jon needs to learn how the internet works...

I wish Jon went more in depth about What About Now, the album. He always talks only about the context and what happened after.

The way he went into how it was on track to be a hit album until the Richie stuff is...gosh..such a wishful re-writing of history. In no way, shape or form was WAN on the path of having a hit single. You can say "i think had we released song X, it would have done well" but that ain't the same as what he did. That rubbed me the wrong way.

Bounce is called a 2001 record, which is obviously wrong. Gotta love how he is back to the less humble way of saying "he" wrote songs (when Aldo Nova was involved with Blaze of Glory, and Desmond and Richie co-wrote a lot of the other hits).

Him not only saying WAN was about to hit #1, but that they were doing "great" is just dishonest lol. "He doesn't wanna come back! I've been waiting at the door for 10 years!"

At least he isn't talking shit about The Circle anymore either

He'd have no reason to credit Aldo given Aldo wasn't credited as a writer on the album. I do agree that its widly dishonest to call WAN a number 1 album without saying it it was from ticket sales. Boast all you want about your tours my dude, it doesn't mean jack to people actually buying your albums.

WAN reached number 1, for the same reason as Lost Highway and The Circle, the copy of the album associated with each ticket sold. Also because he changed the release date of the album, bringing it a couple of weeks earlier, so as not to coincide with Justin Timberlake's new release, that's how he got that number 1. A smart move, but I wouldn't call WAN a successful album, and it could never be at that point since no song on the album would have worked on the charts.

Jon just distorts reality to get his way, I can understand that, he's not going to say that the album was a big mistake, and it didn't have any impact. Even so, it has merit to make a number 1 on the billboard., even if it's using those tricks.. so calculated.

As for Richie, it's clear that loyalty only goes one way for Jon.

I have a feeling that Richie wants to come back, but maybe Jon will only let him come back with some conditions, and Richie won't be okay with that. So it's his way of saying that Richie doesn't want to come back.

Well i understand Jon and i'm sure he have conditions about Richie coming back. Do you want some "trainwreck" in band ?! Did you saw Richie in that- podcast with that Foos guy. Sory to say but loooks like Richie still have some problems, probably with drugs or medications....

Some people assume Richie is walking around hammered all the time. I agree that interview was... well, let's say interesting. Jon is the boss, so obviously he makes conditions, that's just how any boss/employee relationship works. But, Richie being a "trainwreck" is a bit harsh, I think. Unless you meant trainwreck in terms of performances, which in that case him and Jon are made for each other.

Regarding the interview, I think he says once "I wrote" about a song that was co-written. He talks about him and Richie writing It's My Life, talks about them writing Bounce together. Says about him and Richie writing Who Says. He uses the term we to say they evolved as songwriters. The term us and we is used multiple times.

Aldo Nova doesn't have a credit because he doesn't deserve one, unless there is evidence to the contrary.

I've said it before and I'll say it again for the benefit of those that weren't around here at the time - I don't believe that Richie is wasted everytime we see him. He has changed, there is something different about him and to me it feels more like health issues, mixed with age, mixed with years of partying. It almost feels like the aftermath of a stroke or some sort of long term damage. Sometimes it's better than others but it's always there. It's not anything like it was in 2014ish when he was clearly drunk a lot of the time. It's just speculation and it's just my opinion, of course.
