When I saw GnR this summer I was blown away by Axl's voice... I thought he sounded just like the album... When I got home and listened to the YouTube clips I was shocked to hear how off his voice really was... I've always noticed that about Jon but I felt I was being biased as a diehard fan... Hearing the same thing from another band just solidified more of the same... Maybe the YouTube audio really showcase the artists true voice but the acoustics being there live really masks a lot of imperfections.... I think Jon will make it through the tour and continue to improve as he goes. I'm still excited to be there for the energy and new songs...

This event was small and the audio acoustics aren't there... That's part of the reason why it's sounding really off...

Agreed. This has been a highlight for me and improves the song in a live setting big time!

Jon just can't do justice to these songs. That version of KTF would have sounded better if the band had sung the chorus and Jon just shook his maracas. I'm not being sarcastic either. He 100% needs to avoid notes he can't hit and hide behind the backing vocals. Make them more prominent. He's too exposed.

You do have a point. Especially since he seems to find the This House Is Not For Sale chorus to hard and lets the band sing almost the entire thing, it doesn't really make sense why he insists on singing a chorus that are high even for a singer with a voice in a good shape. There is just no way he can pull of the Keep the Faith chorus anymore. He could sing the "You've got to keep the faith" lines and let the band take the high ones.

I must point out that this is in no way what I want. If a miracle happens and he somehow at least can reach back to early 2013 standards, I'd love form him to keep giving Always, Bed of Roses, Keep the Faith, Have a Nice Day outings, but right now, if he wants to perform them, it has really reached a point where he HAVE to start arrange the songs differently vocally, and not about SHOULD. He has some terrific singers in the band, and they have to step up even more if Bon Jovi shall live on.

I just don't see the point anymore of him fighting a losing battle each night. Some songs he sounds fine on, others are frankly embarrassing. Those of which he HAS to play, he should let the band cover certain parts or just skip them - he could get away with this by being much more mobile on stage. Move about and act the part of rockstar. Skipping words but being a mannequin would look just weird.
