As pointed out, the opening scene literally shows him doing something.
THAT is all I'm saying. I'm not stupid enough to say he wasn't taking care of himself but I'm also not naive as all hell to say he "never went to the doctor" about it, a rich guy who literally has chiropractors and specialists tour on the road with him for decades, but he never went to figure out what's going on with his voice? It's fun to make up up facts to bolster an opinion.

I'm/we're all to discuss stuff.

I agree that it's sensible to think he took care of his voice in that period also. As far as I know, it's not well documented either way? Perhaps it's also plausible to say that in relative terms we can believe (based on nothing except strong vocal downfall) that he took less care than in later years, especially modern times (operation and everyday training).

But yeah, I don' think it can all come down to smoking. Remove smoking and what, we get TD tour voice for 15 more years? I think smoking definitely reduced his live stamina, though. But my intuition is that nasal live voice was more of a choice (recommended by vocal coach perhaps?) to prolong his singing career. Then he took obviously another approach in the LH tour, with very forced mouth openings and pronounciations. This is all speculation ofc, but I think more plausible than just to say he didn't took any training or care of his voice in that time period.

Jon Bon Jovi Says He's 'Been Waiting at the Door for 10 Years' to Talk to Richie Sambora About Leaving Band (Exclusive)...The beloved rocker looks back on the band's 40-year legacy in the new Hulu docuseries, 'Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,' streaming Friday, April 26

https://people.com/jon-bon-jovi-wait...lusive-8637882

''Bon Jovi also notes that he invited Sambora over to his home to watch three-fourths of the docuseries together, adding: "There’s never animosity."

However, a Sambora source tells PEOPLE that "Richie flew out to see Jon and brought him a birthday present — a really nice guitar — but they screened Jon's documentary instead. Richie left after the third episode because he was sick and tired of what he was seeing."

The source continues: "He didn't like the way he was being cast. He disagrees with how they framed his departure from the band and to him, the currency of happiness is more important than the currency of money."

I don't buy that at all, sounds like sensationalist "journalism" to me - using the word losely.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't somebody say that this viewing happened last year sometime? Bit early for Richie to be bringing Jon a birthday present... made up nonsense in my opinion.

It's already be covered. In one of the interviews he said that he watched the 3 episodes with Richie during which he was a member of the band.

So the 4th episode will cover them continuing without Richie and Jon's vocal issues, so no reason for that to be shown to Richie.

I also believe it was said that the last episide was edited later as to end it as up to date as possible.
