I hope fans don't attack John Shanks. It was clear JBJ and Richie Sambora always had different views on music. JBJ hiring John Shanks as more than a producer relegated Richie Sambora, but to be honest I think Richie Sambora wanted-out. Richie didn't want to part of pop rock Jovi.

A different sound that Richie Sambora wanted. JBJ didn't.

I Pray, in respects sounds more like current Bon Jovi, Yes.

My point was Richie Sambora had a different perspective on what Bon Jovi should sound, than Jon's.

John Shanks was part of the problem. Hire another producer same sound etc.

Bands mature after 30 years, expecting them to stay the same style and then don't perhaps Richie Sambora and fans dislike ( in some ways I agree with why Richie Sambora walked away, Style of music, too much touring etc).

At least JBJ is being honest, and not trying to recreate the past, even if he could have past 80's/90's voice I think he still would do the exact same.
