The bits about Richie vs Shanks made me feel even more that it was 100% Jon's fault. He blamed himself for years for Richie leaving? Well, he should, because he was to blame. Richie had his issues, but on the band camp, Jon was making it even more difficult.
Overall, I think the documentary is very lacking in research. They never talked about the 2nd solo albums. Even the main narrative would be richer if they talked about Richie's 3rd solo tour and the overlapping with WAN recording sessions. Hell, if the focus was Jon's voice, why they didn't mention Wanted being dropped from the setlist or the playback he used in that tour? I expected more. I feel like I fell for Bon Jovi's PR once again.
Also, just to note, I hate Matt even more after the doc.

Richie Sambora and JBJ are both to blame for Richie's depature in 2013.
JBJ's always used some form of playback even from the 90's, on Livin' on a Prayer.
Yes, JBJ should have been more honest about his voice to fans ( especially 2012 onwards Touring) and John Shanks involvement more than a producer, but Richie Sambora also too to the fans, that he didn't like the direction the band was going in, but he did co-write WAN as well.....
Everyone's has a blame to share.
Sometimes fans hatred for JBJ can colour objectivity that anything Bon Jovi produces since WAN will be no good since Richie Sambora isn't there. Yes, it's better with Richie, but JBJ can write good songs, he's just older and wiser, in what he chooses to sing about. The past isn't coming back.
