Richie gets a pass for a lot of things.

Those who hate WAN say that Richie had little to do with it. The albums they do like, he was obviously heavily involved. He is credited as a songwriter pretty extensively on WAN. Why do some assume this mean a smaller part in the songwriting process than before? Richie himself is big on talking about how influential he has been as a songwriter and how the song's he co-wrote are his. So WAN falls into that for me.

Jon decides the direction of course, and takes huge blame for what happened. Because Richie left, people distance him from the shit Bon Jovi has pushed out. I hated the GH songs and almost the entirety of The Circle, Richie was present for those songs.

I don't think it is much of an off point prediction to say Richie's new album is going to show how much he has stunk up the Bon Jovi machine as much as Jon over the last decade. Aftermath showed that he is/was as deeply into the Bon Jovi vision as Jon. Another tepid effort from someone who is painted as the "artist" of Bon Jovi.

Leaving in the middle of the WAN tour left a false impression that Richie was somehow uninvolved with that album.

To be fair it was the solo album and WAN's timelines crossing that give off the uninvolved impression. From what it sounds like it's 60 percent Shanks on guitar. I think he was there in the writing/demoing stage but past that he recorded all the solos, some licks here and there and all the backing vocals needed. It's his playing that's sorely missed.

Of course I wish for more of the stuff I enjoy but the stuff I enjoy others wouldn't and vice versa.

I have some faith in this album, I think he'll surprise us. The first two singles didn't show much by way of that but they're singles for a reason. No one wants to hear Bon Jovi with depth on the radio.
Don't forget Blind Love.

I don't consider BB to be an album of B Sides at all. At least half of the album, if not more, contains songs that very much deserve to be considered as from an official studio release and be considered for playing live (other than WDR Saturday Night Gave Me..)

I don't see why we wouldn't have faith in the album. So far, I'm only not impressed with Knockout, but Bon Jovi's entire career has consisted of single releases that rarely impress me going all the way back to New Jersey, so the fact I love THINFS is something of a rarity for me. Every post-2000 album has contained strong material that can stand up with the best of them, including WAN and BB. The singles have never foreshadowed the albums they are on.

I thought I was buying it for the tracks. Is there another release containing the same CD content?

I wish it were that simple, but... no.

The Japan release is the most comprehensive with 3 additional bonus tracks to what Target will have and an additional 4th track that will be exclusive to Japan.

I just placed my order. 40 bucks. This album better deliver.

I don't get it. That's the exact tracklist of the target edition.

13. Real love
14. All hail the king
15. We don't run
16. I will drive you home* (target exclusive)
17. Good night new York* (target exclusive)
18. Touch of gray* (target exclusive)

Why is the Target page claiming only 3 additional tracks? It's at odds with the item description.
