They have? That's quite a stretch. WWBTF bored me to tears as a first single. I listened to it once or twice upon release and ignored it until the release of the album. It was WWWB that got me very excited for The Circle, despite certain members of the board's best efforts to discredit and dismiss the song, I thought and still think the track is awesome. WWBTF hardly represents The Circle. It's one of the weaker tracks of the album.

So "This Ain't A Love Song" fully prepared you for "Hey God" and "Damned?" "Everyday" foreshadowed "Hook Me Up" and "Undivided?" "Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning" sounds like "A Teardrop To the Sea," "We Don't Run" and "Who Would You Die For?"

Albums are journeys. Not collections of songs that all sound the same. You're tasting vanilla ice cream and assuming there is no Sweet Cream Coffee Caramel.

None of those are title tracks though, that's not the point he's making. A point I'm not sure I agree with. I think he's saying the title tracks represent the tone of the albums.

It's a point I'm certain I disagree with and really changes nothing about my point. "Burning Bridges" sounds like any of those aforementioned songs from the same album? "Have A Nice Day" foreshadowed "One Last Cigarette" and "Novocaine?" "Lost Highway" gives you the expectation of "Any Other Day" or even "Whole Lot Of Leaving?"

If we are just talking production....sure. I can see that.

I wasn't really that optimistic about the album until after I heard the new song and watched the video. I have no doubt that we will get some great songs on this release. Maybe not all played live but I'm looking forward to the promo shows showcasing the album!

I totally agree with you. No album that I know of, not even boring ol' Bon Jovi, can be defined by a single track - title track or not. Themes and production may carry through, but an album consists of more than just those two constituents. I'll throw a few more examples in there: "Keep The Faith" vs "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead", "Bounce" vs "Right Side of Wrong", "What About Now" vs "What's Left of Me".

And we need to remember that THINFS is also the lead single and, as mention a hundred times before, this will generally consist of the most radio-ready sound/arrangement.

I'm happy to say I love both the song and the video.

That's exactly what I thought, too!
