WAN had the better production..

01) Roller Coaster
02) Scars on this guitar
03) This House is not for sale
04) Come On Up To Our House
05) The Devilīs In The Temple
06) Real Love
07) Labor of Love
8 ) Reunion
09) Living With The Ghost
10) Born Again Tomorrow
11) I Will Drive You Home
12) Colour Me In
13) Goodnight New York
14) God Bless This Mess
15) Touch of Grey
16) Knockout
17) New Years Day
18 ) All Hail The King
Thing is, solo's are predictable Bon Jovi, making it even more formulaic - verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, solo, chorus.

There's plenty of guitar in the album. It doesn't need solos in every song.

I disagree about the production and wall of noise - I think some layers are really clear. It just depends on the song.

No, i think WAN sounds clearer and not so pulpy...
Songs are better on THINFS, but the production is not my Kind of taste.
WAN sound better for me

And Devil's In The Temple proves that they can do it, with Shanks.

I guess they just need to want to.

I think you're spot on. They (Jon) can still write "rock" songs - I just don't think it's the genre he prefers anymore.

Hey, a brazilian site made a review (a good one, although little wrong informations here and there). I don't have the time to translate everything now, but the last phrase of the review for me resumed what is THINFS and it's importance for the band:

"This is not the best representative of Bon Jovi's discography. Nor the most original or the most creative. But you can tell that he enters the collection in a very dignified way. In an album that revolves essentially around themes of change and new beginnings, it makes sense that this is Bon Jovi being the best Bon Jovi that Bon Jovi manages to be these days."

http://judao.com.br/novo-disco-do-bo...a-muito-tempo/

If someone wants me to translate this after, please, pm. But google do a great job to.

I think that's a good way to put it.

Now if only Bon Jovi these days had a singer that could at least somewhat deliver on live performances...

He performed the new songs well! Some songs sound better live.

Please...these songs are ridiculously easy on the vocals, most of them require no range. And some of them sounding better live have 0 to do with Jon's vocals.

But you said 'if only you had someone to sing the songs live' which he done really well. He's admitted his vocals are shot and is working on getting them in shape again.

They as a band had 4 full shows in three years and majority loved them. JBJ sounds good on the new stuff. It's the old stuff he sounds like a bag of shite on.

Well I was referring to shows in general, not specifically the new songs. The old material will still amount to the lion's share of the setlist.

Ah, fair enough.

I'm still hoping anyway. Not got much hope on the older stuff but I'm trying to be positive...
