too poppy for my taste,hate the production(the guitar solo is a joke no shredding at all)
will this band ever rock again?

The Eurovision comparisons are spot on. I also hear a bit of The Rasmus in it. The lyrics may have a bit of an edge to them, but the music of the track makes them sound rather ridiculous.

Solo is surprisingly poserish, but seems kinda aimless.

i definitely like it. Really catchy, rockier that the last one. Wonder which album this was meant for?? I actually like the guitar solo, didn't know Shanks could play like that, it was well constructed throughout and fit the song perfectly.

Now that did get me somewhat excited. But, is a bit less overproduction too much to ask? And reusing the "won't back down" line takes some magic away.
Other than that, sounds like a first single to me that actually has a fresh vibe.

Well, that's a song Jon's never gonna be able to sing live. Actually nobody is because it's so overproduced and edited

The change into the chorus is so obviously done with a different take it doesn't even sound like Jon.

Rest of the song:

The songs on this album are not meant to be sung live. They're on an album that Jon didn't want to release so the band won't bother learning them for the next tour.
